Follow Me
Two weekends ago I had the privilege of being Haley Webb's handler at a Teen Wolf convention in New Jersey called Howler Con. To get all the questions out of the way, 1. No, I don't watch the show and 2. My friend was running the convention and wanted non-fans to watch over the celebrities to avoid crazy fan-girling situations. Basically my job was to make sure Haley was on time for all her panels, photo ops and other events during the weekend and to make sure no one harassed her.

She is one of the nicest people I've met, we had a lot of fun! Even when we got lost outside in the 30 degree weather (I didn't have my jacket on at that point.)  She has definitely found a new fan in me and I will be sure to keep up with her career! I also found out that she was super shy when she was younger, just like me, so there is hope for me to become more outgoing!

I didn't have time to take outfit pictures at the convention, so I just wore both outfits again last week. Why not? It's not like the same people were going to see me in them. Plus, they were cute, so who cares if I wear them 5 times in the same week.

So, here is what I wore on the first day!

Top: Philosophy (Marshalls), Jacket: Elie Tahari x Design Nation c/o Kohl's, Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Natural Selection Messenger Bag' (Saks Fifth Avenue)

Back in July I filmed a television segment for the show Extreme Cheapskates. First of all, I never thought I would be doing that (read: I am super shy, so talking to a camera used to be out of the question.) Second, it was quite the experience seeing how "reality" shows are created.  Lydia was asked to be on the show so they could showcase the thriftiness that makes her so awesome. Then they asked if she had a friend that would consent to tagging along on a shopping trip with her to be "taught her ways."  She finds amazing pieces for great prices so she doesn't break the bank to make an outfit.

The episode aired almost exactly a month ago, and let me tell you, it has been rather interesting seeing the reaction. A few of my family members just happened to have the show on and saw me, so they called my Mom to tell her how excited they were.  And I told a select few family and friends since I wasn't sure how dumb I was going to look.

See all the pictures from our photoshoot over at Lydia's blog!

(yes, I'm wearing my own shoes and jewelry in most of the looks as well as my own jeans. AND I kept the kimono top/silk top we found at Good Will because it was a fun look!)

I had a busy weekend so I didn't have as much time to take outfit photos as usual, so I thought it would be a good day to share some extras from outfit pictures with Lydia since I haven't in a while.  Enjoy!

In contrast to yesterday's post, where I didn't want to wear all black, here's a black outfit! As you can see, my mood changes on the day. This is an outfit I find myself wearing over and over again because it's so easy. Some people don't like repeating outfits, I say why not?! If you like it, wear it again. Most people won't notice, and if they do, who cares?

I just love how the sweater barely comes above the hem of my skirt, the play in proportion makes me feel a lot taller than my 5'2" height. The sweater isn't supposed to be this long, but I bought a size large because it was all they had and I liked it. As long as I don't button it, you'd never know that it's the wrong size. I believe it was only $20 and I've had it for at least 4 years.

And how cute are these bow earrings from Lauren Conrad's collection at Kohl's?

Top: Cullen (RueLaLa), Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Skirt: T by Alexander Wang (NET-A-PORTER), Shoes: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Tights c/o Wolford, Earrings: LC by Lauren Conrad c/o Kohl's

Some days you just feel like wearing all one color (but not black.) I almost wore a burgundy tee with this outfit and changed my mind. It may be a bit much for some people, but since burgundy is one of my favorite colors I'm totally okay with it. I've been neglecting these leopard jeans as of late and I don't know why, because they're one of my favorite pairs. The print is nice and subtle so it's not overpowering.

Sweater: Ralph Lauren, Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Current/Elliott (RueLaLa), Flats: Chanel (eBay), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Ring c/o Kendra Scott, Necklaces: Indulgems & Bubu Ruby

Of all the designer collaborations Target has done, the Phillip Lim collection has been my favorite. I have 3 pieces from the line; two basic sweaters (one from the men's department) and the BOOM sweatshirt. I wear the sweatshirt quite a bit, but it has only been seen on the blog a handful of times, and never in it's own outfit post. I decide to rectify that right today! I even went so far as to wear a red lip for the occasion to match the print! And red shoes of course, who doesn't need a little Wizard of Oz in their life?

Sweatshirt: Phillip Lim x Target, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Heels: Marc by Marc Jacobs (NET-A-PORTER sale), Rings c/o Marrin Costello midi & stellar

This sweater is one of my favorites. Being cashmere, it's super soft and then there's the added bonus of the really cool emerald snakeskin print! Even though the color and print are bold, this is such a great basic piece and one that I wear a LOT during the colder months.  I topped this outfit with my super cozy faux fur vest, I wore it to a family brunch and everyone was making fun of me saying I looked like a dog. But that could also have something to do with how I was crouched on the ground next to my own dog.

Vest: French Connection (Marshalls), Cashmere Sweater: T Babaton c/o Aritzia, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),

Once again we have another iteration of my Fall uniform, a sweater and jeans.  But it's so easy to change up with the bevy of options available. It's no longer plain blue jeans and cable knit sweaters. Now we have textured jeans, colored jeans and many styles of sweaters. In this look you can see I'm wearing snakeskin textured jeans along with my striped sweater.  I decided to add another pattern to the mix and wore some  leopard flats. Why not?

Sweater: Banana Republic, Jeans: Jolt (Marshalls), Leopard Loafers c/o Joie, Sunglasses c/o GlassesShop

This is what I put on when I feel like I need to wear actual clothes while working.  I snagged this sweater from Lydia when she didn't want it anymore and find myself throwing it on all the time. It's perfect for those overcast days where you need to brighten up your day. I also love the unique knitting style, not your usual cable knit!

These Luxe Me Now slippers (first seen here) have barely left my feet since they arrived in the mail last month. Since they can be worn indoors and outdoors I've been leaving them on when I go to my parents for dinner, which I do a couple days a week. What can I say? They are a mile away and it saves me money on groceries! Plus, they all miss me so I have to bug them every once in a while.

Enjoy some bonus pictures with Layla! Was pulling double duty while taking these pictures.

Sweater: from Lydia, Jeans: Rag & Bone (Shopbop), Slippers c/o Luxe Me Now, Frog Necklace: ShopNBC (giveaway)
