Wolford gifted the tights featured in this post, but all opinions are my own.

It's that time of year again: tights season! These tights Wolford sent arrived just in time for the cold weather we experienced last weekend. I have a love/hate relationship with tights. I love how they make my legs look, but hate when they aren't "just right."

What I look for in a pair of tights: 1. Comfort; if they are too tight I get a stomach-ache, NOT fun. 2. Durability; rips and tears on their first wear is the worst. and 3. Opacity; I personally don't like a super sheer tight.

I received the Merino Tights and they're super soft. So far they pass the comfort and opacity tests! I can't vouch for their durability just yet, but so far so good! They have a reinforced toe, sole and heel so I have high hopes. I will definitely be wearing these a lot through the holiday season.

At $69 they are a bit of a splurge, BUT I have to say I can really see the upgrade in quality from my other tights.  I would definitely recommend Wolford if you're looking for a really high quality tight that's sure to last for years to come. They even have cashmere tights, yes, you read that right: CASHMERE. Pure luxury for your legs! They also carry bodysuits, dresses and so much more, be sure to check out their entire selection.

Also, if you own a pair of Wolford tights, be sure to enter their #UpdateYourLegs Facebook contest. And don't forget to keep up with them on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest!

Dress: DKNY (NET-A-PORTER sale), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barneys Warehouse Sale, extra 40% off right now), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Tights c/o Wolford
When it rains, all I want to do is wrap up in a blanket on the couch and watch movies. But on this rainy day my mom, sister and I decided to do a bit of shopping. Since it was yucky out, I took really quick pictures on the porch.
Tee: Cullen Cashmere (RueLaLa), Boys Sweater: Rag & Bone x Neiman Marcus and Target (available on eBay), Jeans: Rag & Bone (Shopbop), Rain Boots: däv (giveaway), Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gilt), Necklace c/o Emitations

Capes. They rock! Especially this one because it's cashmere and was only $30! It has only made a few appearances on the blog, but I throw it on whenever I want to feel like I'm wrapped in a blanket. I'm rather enjoying how my hair looks in the last photo, too bad it doesn't do that all the time!  That’s all there is to say today, rather short winded, I’m afraid.

EXCEPT:  Notice something new?! On Wednesday I decided to finally give the blog a little upgrade. I finished customizing it that night but decided to actually update the theme last night to start fresh before the weekend! I got my theme from SoraTemplates (see the one I used here.) It wasn't exactly what I wanted, luckily my first job was in programming, so I made my own adjustments (and buttons for bloglovin, like to know it and fohr card)

What do you think? Let me know if there are any bugs.

Yes, another feature on jeans! What can I say, they're my Fall/Winter wardrobe staple. They can be dressed up or down, and worn to a variety of events. With that in mind, I've decided to style a pair of NYDJ slimming jeans in three different ways. Read on to see how I would wear jeans on a super casual day, to work and a night out.

NYDJ is “The Original Slimming Fit” jean. What does that mean? Well: Their exclusive Lift Tuck Technology is designed to make you look and feel a size smaller. A patented criss-cross panel helps flatten in the front, while lifting and smoothing in the back. Every pair of NYDJs is made to fit exactly the same from the hips through the thighs. Their universal fit makes it simple to get the same flattering fit in every pair you choose - no matter what style. So whether you are buying wide leg jeans or trouser jeans, you'll feel slimmer while being super comfortable. P.S. With these jeans, they recommend buying a size smaller than you normally would! How is that for a confidence boost?

When it comes to jeans (for me), it's the skinnier, the better. That being said, the Ami Super Skinny Knit Jean is right up my alley! It is their slimmest silhouette and is also 90% cotton, which means they are going to be uber comfortable!

First up, our casual look! This is what I would wear on a chilly weekend day. Just throw on a cute pair of flats and a super over-sized sweater (with pockets!!), then you're good to go! You could also add a fun statement necklace or bracelets if you need to run out for errands. Although even without jewelry I would be happy to go anywhere in this outfit.

Next up is a work-appropriate office look for those of us lucky enough to be able to wear jeans to work. The key here is to elevate the jeans with your other pieces. Start with a pair of heels, not too high, to instantly take them from hanging out to professional. Then finish off with a button down and smart blazer!

For a night out, the higher the heel, the better! But you don't want them so high that you can't walk, so tread lightly. If you're headed to a bar it's probably going to be hot, so you want a flowy top with a bit of sex appeal. And you can always stash a sweater or jacket somewhere in case things get chilly. I couldn't decide between two tops, so I've shown both! One is off the shoulder, the other is a barely there embellished camisole.

As I posted yesterday, I attended an Endless Jewelry event hosted by Simply Majestic at Mystic Aquarium last week.  Endless Jewelry was started by Jesper Nielsen, one of the co-founders of Pandora, in 2013 and expanded the company to the US this year. Endless Jewelry is a similar concept to Pandora. You can buy a leather band (which has a magnetic closure) in a variety of colors and then add as many charms as you desire. Charms come in gold, silver and rose gold and some contain precious stones. Of the new line, Jesper says:
“I wanted to create something special, something that brings the classic collectible jewelry up to date,” says Neilsen. “I wanted to make a statement and let everybody else take part, or make their own. For me it’s not just a product—this is what we are. This is Endless. It’s going to be the next super brand, and we’re already on our way.”
The aquarium was such a fun setting for the event and Endless Jewelry really ran with it by using shells, starfish and other items you find in the ocean on their displays.  Part of the proceeds from the evening went to help support Mystic Aquarium and their mission.  I was particularly taken with the owl charm, grey pearl dream charm, penguin charm, and the purple band (obviously.)

Lydia and I had time to spare before the event started, so we drove the couple minutes down to Mystic Seaport for photos. It was perfect timing, everything had closed so there was no one there! A couple people walked by, but for the most part we were undisturbed, which was perfect because I always hate when people look at me...

And a couple party snaps:

Last week I was invited over to Mystic Aquarium for an Endless Jewelry event hosted by Simply Majestic. I asked Lydia to come along because I know she loves a good event and I hate going to things alone!  Since the event didn't start until 6, and we wanted to avoid the traffic, Mystic kindly offered us passes to visit the aquarium beforehand! I hadn't been in about 7 years and have been wanting to go back for quite some time. (check out Lydia's post too)

It was a beautiful day to watch the beluga whales and penguins outside. The whole place had been decorated for Halloween, which was a fun surprise! They even put pumpkins and skulls inside the fish tanks in the main gallery. There are so many interesting (and educational!) exhibits going on right now - check them all out! Unfortunately, we missed the Sea Lion show because we were too amused by one of their new exhibits - Jellies: The Ocean in Motion. I did a quick hyperlapse of some of the jellies floating around:
We also made sure to check out their latest 4D movie - SEA MONSTERS 4-D: A Prehistoric Adventure which follows the life of sea monster. Where does the 4D come in you may be thinking? Well, be prepared for water to shoot at you and even teeth to puncture your back while you're watching the fully immersive 3D movie.  It was really fun, although I wasn't in the best outfit to get wet.

Lydia and I didn't want to bring two outfits so we decided to do transitional looks.  I think hers was more successful since my dress is really dressy to begin with. But I think sporting flats and a leather jacket helped to dress it down a little bit more. Check back tomorrow for my event outfit and a recap of the evening.
