Yes, more burgundy. I'm sorry, its my second favorite color, what can I say.  I always find myself drawn to burgundy pieces in stores have have to resist buying more. Sometimes I give in. Luckily for me, my mom was getting rid of this sweater so it cost me nothing to add it to my closet! This dress is a piece I've had for a few years (almost 4) and it makes at least two appearances a year on the blog, but I wear it more often than that. It's something I throw on when I want to be super comfortable but still look put together.

You can thank my brother for the title. I couldn't think of something and he suggested what you see. Ha ha.

Dress via Twitch Vintage, Sweater: Ralph Lauren, Flats: Chanel (eBay), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Necklace c/o by boe, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gilt)

Yes, I shopped the Altuzarra for Target collection. I bought a bunch of items and settled on the Python Long Sleeve Shirt and Embroidered Pleated Georgette Dress. My closet was sorely lacking in long sleeve shirts that I can layer through the Winter, so this top was a perfect addition to my closet! And the dress is just fun, everyone needs a fun, flirty dress, right? Did you buy anything from the collection? (P.S. International folks can order from Net-a-Porter)

Top: Altuzarra for Target, Skirt: Old Navy (old), Boots: vintage (eBay), Bag: Lauren by Ralph Lauren, Jeweled Necklace: Grandma's, Gold Necklace c/o Marrin Costello, Ring c/o Kendra Scott, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La)

I'm continuing with the French Wardrobe Challenge, but changing the rules a bit for myself. Looks like both Jessica and I had the same idea! I'm switching it from 5 to 7 items and allowing myself to buy as many shoes as my heart desires, within reason, of course. While I will still be discerning with all my purchases, it will be nice to have a little more freedom. I'm also going to be more lenient when it comes to "basics" by not restricting to black/white and gray since I wear a lot of burgundy and purple. I have a clothing budget for each month that I'm usually pretty good about sticking to, so that helps curb my purchases as well!  Will you be doing the challenge this season?
This first month I told myself I wasn't allowed to buy anything since I splurged on a pair of Chanel flats last month. But, as per usual, I couldn't  keep that promise. Most of what I bought was paid for with gift cards, so it wasn't a total fail! I did buy a new Marrin Costello necklace and a couple Altuzarra for Target pieces without gift cards. But the Target stuff would have sold out if I waited, so I had to, right? Not really a good excuse, but the collection had lots of purple and burgundy! What's a girl to do?
Near the end of the month I used up an Amazon gift card to buy a pair of Cole Haan sandals I've been wanting since May. They were the last size 8 in the purple color I wanted so I went for it! I paid more than the $49.99 price tag at Marshalls, BUT it was a gift card. The design is simple enough that I'll be able to wear them for years to come. They aren't technically a Fall item, so I won't include them in the remaining roundups.
While I wasn't totally successful in not buying anything I was thoughtful with my purchases, so it's alright.  This weekend my mom is taking my sister and I out birthday shopping (mine is in a couple weeks!) so maybe I'll be able to hold out the rest of the month and not buy anything... (doubtful)

Here is one of my new Fall purchases! I bought this fun fur vest at Marshalls with a gift card and I am so excited to wear it through the Winter! I really love the knitted back, makes it so much more unique than if it was just suede all the way around. I think I'm going to try it over a dress next.  How would you style it?

I also inherited another one of my mom's old rings (she bought it when she was 7 or 8,) this time it's a dime that was carved out to just show "LIBERTY" and a woman who was featured on the dime before Roosevelt. After some research I found that it is called the "Mercury dime" and was only made from 1916 to 1945.

Faux Fur Vest: Ella Moss (Marshalls), Cashmere Sweater: Everlane,  Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Mouse Flats: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gilt), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Rings: Brilliant Imports snake, vintage sapphire and opal, and the rest were mom's

I was finally able to wear the Witchery sweater I bought from Jamie-Lee back in July! It's so perfectly over-sized and comfy! Wearing it with these jeans probably wasn't the best idea for proportions, but I was in a 70s pants mood. Next time I'll wear it with super skinny jeans or a fun skirt! So many outfit ideas swimming around in my head.  And yes, I was a geek and did a play on The Eagle's Witchy Woman for the title, told you they were one my favorite bands!

Sweater: Witchery (Jamie-Lee's Blog Shop), Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Wedges: R2 (DSW), Bag: Wink and Winn (giveaway), Necklace: House of Harlow c/o South Moon Under, Watch c/o Movado

A quick two-photo post today to share what I wore to celebrate my Grandma's birthday this past weekend. The family went to one of our favorite restaurants for lunch then back to her house for cake! not sure this was the best color combo, but none of the shoes I wanted to wear were working, so I settled for these.

P.S. Today is my sister's birthday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAINA! :) (even though she doesn't read this)

Cashmere Sweater: Paolo Rodesco (Roundabout Resale), Pants: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Heels: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Watch c/o Movado & Lucky

Another concert outfit today! I was on a roll last week. This is what I wore to go see Steely Dan with my parents, sister and some other relatives. We're SUPER cool, ha ha. (The title of the post is one of their songs.)  How convenient is it that the yarn details on this sweater match this top perfectly?! I was at a loss for what to wear on top of this tank until I remembered that. It might be a bit of a weird color combo, but I went with it!

Sweater: Marc Jacobs (Roundabout Resale), Top: Mexx (Coco's $10 sale), Jeans: Free People, Sandals: Sam Edelman c/o ThredUp, Watch c/o Movado

This outfit is the definition of high-low dressing. The top half of my outfit was thrifted - I paid under $5 for both pieces together. The jeans are from Marshalls so they were probably half off retail. Then you get to my feet and the crazy expensive Chanel flats.  But you would never know from looking at this outfit that there is such a price discrepancy.  I love when outfits happen to work out like this, it shows that you don't need a ton of money to dress well, you just have to work with what you've got! Even if I didn't have my flats, this would still be a great outfit! In my totally unbiased opinion...

Silk Top: thrifted, Kimono: thrifted, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Flats: Chanel (eBay), Necklace: Marrin Costello (availble soon!), Bracelets c/o 31 Bits, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gilt)

Here's what I wore to go see The Eagles at Madison Square Garden 2 weekends ago!  They are one of my favorite bands so I was super excited to see them! I've only ever been to 5 concerts in my life, 4 have been this year, ha ha.  And, by reading the list I'm not sure you could correctly guess my age.  What would you guess someone's age is if they have seen Billy Joel, The Eagles, Steely Dan, The Beach Boys and John Mayer in concert? Definitely not 25, right?

This outfit also sees the return of my beloved Free People skinny jeans. For over a year you heard my whine about trying to find a replacement for them. I have tried many pairs that I have loved, but none have ever been "the same." Luckily I found the exact model on eBay. They're lightly used, but that's better than my overly used pair.

Top: Philosophy (Marshalls), Jeans: Free People (eBay), Sandals: Isola c/o Marshalls,  Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Watch c/o Movado

This past weekend we were given a taste of Fall with cooler temperatures so I decided to wear one of my favorite lighter sweaters. I got so many great accessories during fashion week and find myself wearing them every day, so don't be surprised if you see them quite a bit.  I wore this outfit to check out the Altuzarra for Target collection. I was bad and bought 6 things (2 in store, 4 online.) When the online order arrives I'll choose a couple things to keep, if what I bought online doesn't fit it will be that much easier to decide, haha.  I wasn't expecting the cooler weather to last, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that Fall is finally here to stay!

Sweater: Madewell, Jeans: Free People, Flats: Liz Claiborne (DSW), Sunglasses: Cole Haan c/o Marshalls, Watch c/o Movado & Lucky, Bracelets c/o Lucky Magazine,  Necklace c/o Marrin Costello, Ring c/o Kendra Scott
