Follow Me
Here is one of my typical weekend looks (minus the wedges): sweater, jeans, ponytail and no makeup. I don't generally wear much makeup every day, but on the weekends I'm usually far too lazy to take the 5 minutes to put on blush, eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick. It's good for you to give your skin a break from time to time anyway.

I wore this on Sunday where we had a little bit of rain, but not as much as Saturday.  There was still a chill in the air so I doubled up on my sweaters. I was in such a lazy mood that I even forgot to put on my rings and watch! *gasp*

Month two of the French Wardrobe challenge is complete! I did well this month and only bought one item, and it was an awesome necklace by Indulgems (seen in this post).  So I still have 4 of my Five items up for grabs - wonder what they'll be. I'm considering using a gift card I won to buy these Ancient Greek Sandals because they mix my love of the brand with Harry Potter. Yes, I know the lightening bolt is representing Zeus, but who says it can't also be Harry.

Now, you might be saying - but what about all that Marshalls stuff you bought!? (Also seen in the post linked above)  Well, since I have an ongoing relationship with Marshalls, those items won't count towards my challenge (or my five items.) Plus, 90% of it is bought with gift cards, I always end up going over my budget.  For this latest challenge, the items I bought would have counted as basics anyhow, score!

THE RULES
  1. Just five standout pieces per season.
  2. Quality over quantity.
  3. Basics don’t count.
  4. Accessories don’t count, unless you’re spending a lot more than usual.
  5. Socks and underwear don’t count.
  6. Shoes do count.

Let's start off with a song, shall we? *drip drip drop, Little April Shower! Beating a tune as you fall all around*  Let's hope that April Showers really do bring May Flowers.  If so, this weekend definitely helped.  Thanks to the rain on Saturday I only took one shot of my outfit. But, in exchange you get some pretty rain photos as well.

    Now for the rainy photos.

Last week Tory Burch's Summer collection made its way to her online store. I love how easy the pieces are, since the collection is so print heavy you don't have to go crazy with accessories, which I am always a fan of. I don't usually do a ton of floral pieces, but I really love the Watercolor Botanical Print, it's not your typical floral which is why I like it.

Say hello to Easter outfit number 2.  This is the first time this dress has been featured in an outfit post, but I have worn it a couple times since buying it.  It's definitely an easy piece to wear since it is a statement on it's own and just needs shoes. The only problem is getting it on and off, the zipper is concealed in the side and I have to do some major acrobatics to not rip it. But that's the price you pay for a cute dress!

I am in desperate need of a getaway, but I don't see that happening any time soon so I've decided to share some photos of places I'd like to go. There are many more on the list, but that would be one long post.

This jacket has become my official Easter jacket. I feel weird wearing it most of the time, but the light yellow shade makes it perfect for Easter.  This was what I wore for our celebrations on Saturday with my Dad's side of the family.  This Carven dress is already getting lots of use! I am already planning to wear it again for a blogger get together next month, unless the weather doesn't cooperate.

I am always watching clothes on eBay even though I know I won't buy most of them. So, rather than watching them be sold to strangers I thought I would share some of my recent "watches" with you in case you are as in love with them as I am.  Click the images to go to the listing. (everything is under $150 at the time of this post)

Marshalls is one of my favorite places to shop because I know I will always get a great deal.  I can find my favorite designers - like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and even Equipment - at amazing prices well below retail. Anyone who knows me will be shocked to see this outfit. Why? Because I'm wearing...white jeans. I always said I would never wear them (for fear of getting them dirty/I feel like they're see-through.) I guess this is why they say 'never say never.'  Since Marshalls makes me confident while shopping, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and wear something I was afraid of.  First white jeans, next, who knows! Maybe a date? ;)

While Lydia was taking photos of this outfit I was singing 'I Have Confidence' from The Sound of Music to myself. *I've always longed for adventure, to do the things I've never dared!* Yes, I'm very strange.  Knowing I got these pieces at amazing prices made that a bit easier. Even though no one else knows I'm wearing an Equipment blouse (except other fashionistas) it gives me confidence. Do you ever feel like that? Maybe you're wearing a certain pair of shoes that you got for dirt cheap and that fact puts a bit more spring in your step.  Or is that just me?

Mother Denim 'The Rascal' Crop Jean: $69.99, retail $196
Equipment 'Mina Tie Front' Blouse: $59.99, retail $198
Solitare Top: $16.99, retail around $32
Etienne Aigner Sunglasses: $9.99, retail around $35

    Total Spent: $156.96 | Retail: $461 | Savings: $304.04

Also wearing:  Lauren Ralph Lauren sweater (Lord & Taylor), Marc by Marc Jacobs bag  (Saks Friends & Family Sale),  Necklace: Indulgems (Gilt), Guess heels (Marshalls)

I couldn't decide between the Equipment blouse I'm wearing and a second top (which was only $17!) In the end I kept both, everyone should splurge once in a while! So watch out for the second top in a future post. Probably with these jeans.  I could have gotten shoes and a bag in place of the Equipment blouse, but I decided to go for it.

    * Disclosure: I have received free products or value from Marshalls or The TJX Companies, Inc. in connection with my affiliation with Marshalls Project FAB.
