Let's get in a time machine and go back to January 23rd, when I started my Florida vacation. Through the rest of the week I'll share my outfits and vacation photos. Exciting, right? The weather was rather chilly for Florida so I spent most of the weekend in my trusty leather jacket. But today I'm sharing some of the sights of our trip, mostly from the Harry Potter park.  For those of you that don't know, I went to Florida for A Celebration of Harry Potter. Basically a weekend full of Potter awesomeness with some cast in attendance.

Well the snow screwed up this week pretty nicely. I only went into work for 2 days, luckily I had both my outfits planned already so I didn't even need to think about it.  They may look familiar as they're the outfit posts from this week.

But in these photos you get a teensy look at my new bedroom arrangement. Hopefully I'll have it fully organized soon so I can share it with you! Still have some odds and ends to fix up, like rearranging artwork and putting a curtain on my closet since I had to take the doors off to fit my furniture.

It wouldn't be a photoshoot with Lydia without tons of photos to share, so here are some extras that didn't make the post cut! I started out with almost 150 pictures, so narrowing down is always tough!

Here is the second of my outfits from Marshalls (see the first)! Unfortunately my gift card only covered the sweater in this outfit, but the dress was totally worth it! Especially since I almost bought that exact dress on Gilt Groupe a few months back for $115. You truly never have to pay full price for fabulous as long as you head to Marshalls!

When I first picked out all the pieces I brought to my dressing room I didn't even think about pairing these two pieces together. But after I put the dress on I noticed that the orange in the sweater matched exactly - serendipity! I love how the sweater adds a bit of a rustic feel to the dressier dress.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Dress - $198 (regular price) -> $99.99 (Marshalls price) -> $69.99 (clearance price)
Ralph Lauren Sweater - $125 (regular price)  ->  $59.99 (Marshalls price) -> $44 (clearance price)

This weekend I went a little crazy with shopping. But I can't help it, I'm a shopaholic! Still sticking with my budget though, I'll just have to be careful the rest of the month.  On Saturday I headed to Roundabout, Anthropologie (just to look) and Marshalls!  I came out with a ton of great new pieces.

Roundabout: Their clearance sale was starting and I tried on about 20 things. I narrowed it down to three, very difficult. Sadly I left behind a beautiful Dolce & Gabbana dress that was on sale for $120. Here's what I ended up with: a Proenza Schouler sweater, Marc Jacobs cardigan, and Manolo Blahnik shoes! All purple/maroon...the obsession continues.
And the dress I left behind:

Anthropologie: I went in not expecting to buy anything but came across this sweater in the sale section for $30 and it was unique so I picked it up! It's not online anymore but you can search for it on eBay: "Angel of the North Algarve Beaded Pullover Sweater"

Marshalls: I had a gift card for Marshalls for my latest Project Fab challenge and ended up spending double what the gift card was ;) What can I say, I can't resist a deal! More on these soon (you've already seen 2 of them.)
We're just over a month into 2014 and I made a couple goals for myself. I don't really make resolutions because I know I won't keep them. But these two goals are something I always strive to do and one is a lot easier than the other.  Marshalls recently challenged me to shop in their stores to help out with these resolutions/goals...no problem!  The first, which I'm featuring today is to never pay full price for fabulous clothes!  I headed to the store knowing there were a few staple items I wanted, but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. Thankfully Marshalls was there to save the day!

I went in with the objective of finding one great outfit, fortunately (or unfortunately for my wallet) I found two outfits I couldn't leave the store without!  This first outfit features something I have been hunting for since last year: black skinny jeans.  I have wanted to find a pair of J Brand black skinnies and every time I headed to Marshalls they had some - just never in my size (or the ones with the buckles at the ankle, which are cool, but not exactly classic.) I ended up with these "Danica black zip" skinny jeans, not exactly what I wanted, but they fit like a glove!  I then found an adorable fox sweater to pair with them! Did I mention it was all on clearance! Here's the breakdown:

Song of the Day: Foxy Lady (Jimi Hendrix)

J Brand Jeans $220 (regular price) -> $69.99 (Marhsalls price) -> $49.99 (clearance price)
Vertical Design Sweater - $80 (regular price) -> $39.99 (Marhsalls price) -> $29.99 (clearance price)

Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Sweater: Vertical Design c/o Marshalls, Boots: ChloĆ© (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Chanel, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Stay tuned for my next goal in a couple weeks: cooking at home more instead of just heating up Trader Joe's premade chicken or Ellio's pizza.

The first few days back at work after a vacation are always the worst, aren't they?  At least I only had to wake up early 2 days this week. Since I was still pretty exhausted from my trip I went for super comfortable outfits. Stay tuned next week for some posts about vacation. Light on the words today.

I wore this outfit before my trip when my sister and I headed to Mother Earth Gallery, a store that carries gorgeous crystals and fossils as well as many other products for the home. When we were little we went there on a field trip to visit their "mine" where kids can go in and dig for treasures. This time we went as adults to buy some gorgeous pieces. I wore my awesome ammonite pendant for the occasion and hoped to find a pair that I could display on a shelf. (I have been wanting larger ones since I bought this.)

Luckily, or unluckily, they had a ton of beautiful fossil pairs to choose from, among other things. I got a medium sized pair and can't wait to find a home for it in my redesigned room (once my new bed comes.)  I also picked up a gorgeous agate wind chime, agate clock and a chakra pendant (see photo below.) I had to resist buying up the whole store, it is amazing! Stuff like that is my other weakness, apart from clothes.

Sweatshirt: Marc Jacobs (Coco's $10 sale), Pants: Current/Elliott (Rue La La), Flats: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Chanel, Necklace: Geoclassics, Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's, Watch c/o Lucky & Movado

What I got, minus the wind chime, I'll share that soon I hope!
Sometimes it's hard to decide what to wear, so on this particular(ly foggy) day I had two outfits and switched between them during the day. It was a simple change - swap out a vest for a long cardigan and *poof* a new look! It was also warm enough that I didn't need a jacket, which was nice for the middle of January. Am I the only weirdo who does this? I certainly hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Top c/o Oasis, Jeans: Free People (Marhsalls), Booties: ChloƩ (Roundabout Resale), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Cardigan: J.Crew (Roundabout Resale), Vest: French Connection (Marshalls)
