Follow Me
This was my position all week.  I was still stuck at home because of train issues so, from 9-5:30, I worked from my couch.  Usually when I work from home I stay in my pjs all day, but this week I decided to try and get dressed for a couple of days.  I still kept it super comfortable in a sweater and jeans though.

And of course this one always tries to distract me...
I love leather jacket season! And the funny thing is: I didn't own a leather jacket until I randomly found this for a steal last year. It will definitely be a huge staple in my wardrobe for years to come. I wore this over the weekend to the Heritage India Festival the next town over with my aunt, brother and his girlfriend. I had a lot of fun people watching and almost bought a gorgeous tunic, but I resisted because I wouldn't have worn it a lot.

Time to introduce everyone to another new to me store: Tucci Designer Clothing. Tucci offer a fabulous collection of designer womenswear from leading designers including French Connection, Guess and more! Below are some piece I would love to add to my wardrobe for Fall and Winter.

It is finally the perfect weather for the inspired-by Burberry owl shirt I made last year!  For it's first outing this season I decided to pair it with my Mother denim skirt and burgundy booties.  I wore this for a morning of errands on Saturday - grocery store, T.J. Maxx and Duchess for lunch! A perfect morning.

I always love being introduced to new websites and brands, recently I discovered Brantano for shoes.  They have an amazing collection with tons of womens boots options, perfect for Fall.  I've taken the liberty of creating a couple outfits for some Autumn inspiration!  This year boots that hit just above the ankle are very "in," but I am still partial to shorter booties or really tall.  I will definitely experiment with an in-between length when I find the perfect pair.

Look 1: These shoes are pretty basic so I went with an edgy vibe for the look. When you wear simple shoes you can really pump up the volume in the outfit.  Even though it is monochromatic I think it is very complex. The pleated leather and printed sweater go perfectly together.

Shoes: Clarks via Brantano, Skirt: Burberry London, Sweater: Mary Katrantzou, Clutch: Michael Micheal Kors, Earrings: Kimberly McDonald

Look 2: For this look I decided to go for an animal, safari vibe.  Tights may be needed for this outfit depending on when it's worn but Fall is that time of year when you never know how the day will end up.

It's getting chilly out there! I hope everyone had a lovely first week of Fall. I enjoyed being able to wear only a sweater with no coat, for now. We better enjoy this in between weather while we can.  This was an interesting week. On Wednesday I was stuck working at home because train service to Grand Central was suspended due to a power failure.  It couldn't have happened on a better day, though. It was my sister's birthday so I was able to have dinner with my family to celebrate. The day before that my twin cousins celebrated their 18th birthday, that makes me feel so old (I'm 7 years older than them!) And pretty soon I'll be a quarter of a century old...time flies. Lots of birthday talk today, ha ha.

Unfortunately trains are going to be crazy for up to three weeks because of the power outage.  So I won't be able to go into the office until it's fixed.  I did not go in yesterday but you'll notice there is an outfit there. That's because that is what I planned on wearing on Wednesday (I got dressed Wednesday, drove to the train station and drove home) and then was going to wear yesterday so I figured I'd leave it since I had the photo. ;)\

Thursday: Dress: DKNY (Net-a-Porter sale), Heels: Dolce & Gabanna (Uptown Consignment), Necklace c/o Gorjana Griffin, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's
I enjoyed this outfit so much a couple weeks ago that I decided to put it on again and take outfit photos to share more details. There's really not much to it, just a dress with a button up blouse on top. When I was at work someone asked me why I was so dressed up.  I guess it's because I have been a bit lazy with my outfits lately, but that's what happens during Summer, right?  It's so hot you don't want to think about what you're wearing.

Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gilt), Top: Equipment (sample sale), Flats: Missoni for Target, Necklace c/o Gorjana Griffin, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's

On my last trip to Marshalls (when I was shopping for my brownies post) I came across an amazingly soft Max Studio blanket.  At only $20, I had to have it.  I walked by the pajama section and spotted a maroon pj set by Tahari that was also super soft and once again was only $20.  I haven't bought a pajama set in years, I usually just wear an old tshirt (or one of my brothers' old sweaters) and gymnastics sweatpants. It's so nice to have an actual matching set now. No lounge day would be complete without a nice mug of hot chocolate, so I picked up an adorable maroon mug to match the pajamas and some specialty hot chocolate mix.  Even my nail polish (OPI) is from Marshalls!

This is how you'll find me on most Fall/Winter days.  I love curling up with a blanket in my comfortable clothes with some hot chocolate and a good book or movie. Although I must admit it is usually a movie, I haven't been reading much lately. After we took these photos I settled down on the couch with my family for a Star Trek marathon because my parent's hadn't seen the new ones yet.

Speaking of parents, these photos are by my Dad. Photography is one of his hobbies (along with cars) and we have some of his photographs displayed in the house. I don't know why I haven't had him take my photos before. I guess it's because I feel awkward, we laughed a lot during this shoot. Maybe I'll ask him to do it more often, especially because he's the one with the nice camera, unlike me with my tripod & mid-range Nikon (which I am quite fond of, but it's no DSLR.)

* Disclosure: I have received free products or value from Marshalls or The TJX Companies, Inc. in connection with my affiliation with Marshalls Project FAB.
The fall season is here and THE OUTNET.COM knows just how to keep you warm but stylish with this upcoming edit. The brand popular for its perfect blend of cashmere knitting, mink and wool, Missoni will arrive a little later today. Mix and match or simply pile on head-to-toe patterned threads of zigzags, waves and signature stripes.

Stock up on Missoni looks from THE OUTNET up to 65% off. I have been sent over a few items as a preview.  The purple boucle sweater is my favorite, obviously. I will add purchasing links as soon as they are available.

Boucle Sweater - $259

Leather-trimmed crochet-knit jacket - $910

Metallic crochet-knit pants - $327

Patterned chenille scarf - $99

One of my favorite pieces of clothing has to be jeans. I can never have enough pairs, although I do resist buying them as much as I can. I've got printed jeans, dark jeans, light jeans, colored jeans, distressed, skinny, flared and the list goes on. In 2006, the store Trilogy was launched in London with one simple aim - to find everyone the perfect pair of jeans, in a friendly environment with expert help and advice.  They have four locations in London but their online store also ships internationally.  Trilogy, sell a range of J Brand Jeans so I thought I would choose a pair and create three different Fall looks! I picked the 485 Skinny In Luxe Sateen Carbon Blue because who can't use a great dark wash skinny jean?

Look 1: The Leather Jacket. Everyone needs a leather jacket in their wardrobe, but you don't need a boring black one.  Here I chose a fun purple one to pair with the jeans along with knee-high boots and printed top.

Look 2: The Ankle boots.  One of the easiest ways to dress up jeans is with a nice pair of ankle boots. But I kept this look a little more casual with the layered button up and sweater.  I think this would be a perfect look for a date night.

Look 3: Leather and Lace.  Pairing jeans with lace is a great way to add some femininity to your look and adding a pair of leopard heels gives the look some sassy-ness as well.
