Follow Me
This outfit brings me back to my childhood. Back in the 90s EVERYONE had a crazy colored/patterned windbreaker.  I think I was drawn to this jacket at Target because it reminded me of being young again.  I decided to style this outfit for "now."  I paired it with skinny jeans, pointy pumps and some matching accessories.  I'm not usually one to be so matchy-matchy (or maybe I am) but I really like how all the colors go together in this look. The weather was AMAZING this day, nice and warm, all I can say is: FINALLY!

I wore this to go out to lunch with my roommate last Friday.  I didn't need all of the junk I usually have in my purse, so I used my new JavoEdge City Pouch (I still carried my purse with my camera and left it in the car.)  It is specifically made so it fits an iPhone along with other necessities.  There is space for 8 cards, cash, your keys, phone and maybe a lipstick. This makes it perfect for going out with your girlfriends.  It also comes with a strap so you can just throw it over your shoulder and not worry about losing it. They make these for iPhones, iPads, Kindles, Androids and much more, make sure to check it out!

Breaking news: I didn't wear a coat 3 days this week! That's right...it's getting warmer!  I was able to sneak by without a coat from Tues-Thurs by wearing an extra sweater for my walk and then talking it off at the office (Wednesday I didn't even need that.)  Hopefully it stays nice for my long weekend, I have today off and I'm taking Monday off to get some rest.  It's also Easter this Sunday, so I'll be with my Mom's side of the family.  But I see them almost every Sunday anyway so that's not really a big deal.

On Wednesday I went to a Madewell Shop into Spring event with some friends from work. Unfortunately I didn't buy anything. But I had good reason - I bought a new Macbook Pro on Tuesday! Woo! I got a refurbished 17in (because they don't make it anymore and I love the bigger screen) because my current Mac is getting old and slow (I also need more space, it only has 150GB of space, my new one will have 750.) I've been putting it off for far too long and I figured now was the time because who knows when they will run out of refurbished 17 inch models.  I can't wait for it to arrive, I love shiny new objects. ;)

UPDATE: Many of us in the Potter world (and general movie/tv/theatre lovers) learned this morning that Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon in Harry Potter) has passed away.  He was an amazing actor and will be missed. RIP Richard Griffiths.

I went a bit print/texture happy in this outfit. Snakeskin x 2 plus leopard print = Megan is crazy.  Normally when I wear these jeans I sport flats, but I decided I wanted to look super tall at work and threw on my Miu Mius.  I know platforms are going on their way out, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop wearing these babies! I searched too long and hard to find them, so I'm going to enjoy them.

This is what I wore on Sunday for Easter Part 1; we went to my Aunt's house to celebrate Easter with my Dad's side of the family so we don't have to go to two houses on Easter.  This outfit is full of old pieces.  First, of course, is my (new to me) Chanel blazer which is from Autumn 1998. Next is a necklace that I got when my Dad's mother passed away in 2001, I'm not sure how old it is, but I would guess it's pretty old.  Finally, we have a bracelet that my Grandmother (Mom's mom) just gave me a couple weeks ago.  It originally belonged to her Aunt and she assumes it is at least from the 60s, if not earlier.  I love wearing pieces with a story to them, makes getting dressed so much more fun, don't you think!?

Jacket: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Tee: Cullen (Rue La La), Jeans: Free People (Gilt Groupe), Heels: Lanvin (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Necklace: Grandmother's on Dad's side, Bracelet: Grandmother's on Mom's side (originally from her Aunt)
I've gotten a lot of new pieces in my closet lately (shame on me) so I thought I'd do a little roundup since you haven't seen all of them yet. I seem to go through phases where I'm really good and don't buy anything, but then all at once I go crazy. At least none of this was super expensive (except a bathing suit that I had to return, so that doesn't count.) Here we go:

New Fair Trade bracelets from Ten Thousand Villages. I loved them so much I bought more online.

Here are various purchases from Coco's of Madison's $10 sale (as well as a denim skirt from Christine)
Ralph Lauren Scarf
Emanuel Ungaro
J.McLaughlin
Prada
Urban Outfitters?

You've seen these a couple times already but I thought I'd share them again.  My Dolce & Gabbana heels: LOVE! Bought at Uptown Consignment for a steal.

My brand new watch by Skagen (via RueLaLa), for those times when I don't want to wear my oversized Michael Kors watch. It's a nice change but I find it harder to see what time it is. I've been spoiled by the big watch face. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find this exact model available online anywhere so I can't tell you where to get it!

And my two most recent pieces, both from Target. A fun windbreaker, and reversible jeans!

This Saturday was surprisingly Springy, although still chilly at times.  I took the opportunity to wear my new tank top (by Mexx) that I got for $10 at Coco's of Madison. I also wore my new watch (from Rue La La) and fair trade bracelets. Too bad the weather is supposed to turn today, the forecast says snow....NO!  I can't wait until Summer so I can wear this top without a sweater!

I wore this to go to Target with my sister and then to spend the rest of the day lounging at my parent's house.  I was a bad girl and bought a crazy purple/floral windbreaker and reversible jeans. We also watched The Hobbit before bed! Woo! I do love Peter Jackson...if someone else had made the movie(s) it wouldn't be even 25% as good.  Perfection.

What a week! Work was insanely busy so I am happy the weekend is almost here. I'm spending the weekend at my parents' house because we're celebrating Easter with my Dad's side of the family. We usually do this with holidays so we don't have to go to two houses on the actual holiday, ha ha.

Last night I went home to get my mountain of mail.  The We Are Handsome suit I bought was too big, it was falling off me. So depressing.  So I am still on the hunt for a small.  I also got a gorgeous Skagen watch (image) and a plain black tee from RueLaLa as well as some more bracelets from Ten Thousand Villages. And, in non-fashion purchases, I added some movies to my Disney collection.

My friend Mary, whom I had the pleasure of meeting last September at LuckyFABB, tagged me in a Five Things post. So I have to share 5 facts (interesting or not) about myself.  It was hard coming up with a list, but here we go!
One: I did gymnastics for 13 years and miss it every day. When I started, at the ripe old age of 5, I HATED it and cried when my mom made me go. But as I got older I grew to love it. I competed until I graduated high school. Fun fact: I hold the school record for a front handspring vault: 8.55 out of 8.6...however the judge told me I should have gotten an 8.6, but she couldn't give it to me. HOW ANNOYING! So basically, I got a perfect 10.
Two: I am obsessed with movies (evidence.) What's weirder is that I can quote my favorite movies WITH sound effects AND soundtrack while watching (or not watching.) If I turn on a movie I've seen a few times (or Gilmore Girls) I can say the next line right away. My brothers, sister & I (along with some cousins) constantly quote parts of movies, our favorites being Willy Wonka and The Princess Bride.  I even use movie quotes in regular conversations & anyone who can tell what movie they're from gets brownie points. I quote way too often, ask anyone. I even did it on the blog once.
Texting Indiana Jones quotes with my cousin
Three: I am a super picky eater.  Example: I hate cheese, it's gross. I eat junk: chips, chocolate, bread, anything they tell you not to eat on a diet. Needless to say I have never, and will never go on one. I do love random things like shrimp scampi and rice & beans. Rice & beans is Jamaican, which is another fact: I have a teeny bit of Jamaican in my family history, and am half French Canadian.
Example: The stuff on the left is inedible. Ew. (this photo was taken in London last March)
Four: If I were a character from The Big Bang Theory I'd be a mix of Sheldon, Raj, Penny & Leonard. Raj: I can't talk to boys, though it isn't as bad as selective mute-ism. Sheldon: I am awkward in social settings, but not to his extent. Leonard: I am pretty normal, but still geeky. I'm obsessed with Harry Potter (my fan site) for goodness sake!  And obviously Penny because I'm a girl and dress cute. Fortunately, I'm not gross like Howard, ha ha.
Weee!
Five: When I was younger I wanted to go to school for film making. I was given a camera for my 14th birthday and made rather embarrassing movies with my family.  Here's a peek at one of them, in which I played an alien from Uranus (I had a balloon for a behind,) and the head of a superhero group.  Clever, right? (and how 'bout that old computer!)
My brother and I "acting"; we're super heros
Now I tag: Lydia, Christine, Jamie-Lee, Courtney and Jessica. Have fun if you choose to participate!

And as a bonus, here are some blooper shots from various blogger meetups, all photos by Lydia. :) As you can see, I don't take myself seriously at all. I'm a psycho. (that's a movie quote...anyone know what from?!)
FIN.
