Happy Friday, I'm so glad it's the weekend...I need a break from busy-ness.  Getting up at 5:40am Monday-Thursday is starting to take a toll, I think I need a vacation. But that won't be happening for a while, we'll see though.  Other than being busy, this week was pretty good. I went out again on Tuesday with some co-workers, we went to Lure Fishbar in Soho.

This weekend I'm planning on staying home and doing some baking.  I'll probably go to my Grandmother's on Sunday as well, and probably to my parents', I haven't decided, ha ha.

The weather really needs to decide what it wants. I'm tired of this warm-ish then freezing weather! I went to work without a coat on Tuesday then on Wednesday it was back to being cold and windy. Looks like next week is supposed to be warmer (low 50s) though, so that's good!

A few weeks ago Sunglasses Shop offered to send me a pair of designer sunglasses for review! After looking through their selection of sunglasses I let them know some pairs I was lusting after.  They kindly sent over a pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses and I am pretty much obsessed. I'm sure most of you already know the reason I love them but, for those of you that are new to Megan-land, I'll say it: they're PURPLE!!! YES!  I also love the shape, they're wayfarers and a bit oversized which is my favorite style (followed closely by cat-eye.)

The sunglasses came all the way from the UK and shipping was surprisingly quick, so no complaints there!  They have such an amazing selection from Burberry and Marc Jacobs sunglasses to RayBan and even Chanel! It is definitely worth checking out their offerings, you won't be disappointed.

I started the outfit with the sunglasses, and then grabbed my DIY owl shirt because the beads matched. Then the rest of the outfit formed itself. My new ($10!) oversized blazer was a perfect match for the tee, and I decided to go with a 70s vibe for the bottom half with some wide leg jeans and riding booties!

(hey, it has eyes in the title...and I've been listening to it non-stop lately, give me a break ;) )

I've been on the hunt for a new beauty routine since mine is currently nothing, I know, shame on me. I go through phases where I'll actually use products I have, but it never sticks. When PONDs asked me to test out their new Luminous products I didn't hesitate. The complete Luminous Line is available at mass retailers, select drugstores and supermarkets nationwide for $4.99 - $5.79. I got to try out the following products:
Daily Exfoliating Cleanser, Cream Cleanser, Day Lotion with SPF15, and Wet Cleansing Towelettes
All the products have the same slight fragrance, which I enjoyed. It was also smart to have all the same scents because you don't want to use products that smell differently from one another.  They make my skin feel very smooth and clean.  My favorite product is the cleansing towelettes, they will be great for those nights when I am too tired to wash my face.

PONDS is also holding the “POND’S® 30-Day Luminous Photo Challenge,” a 30-day photo sweepstakes featuring daily challenges to inspire women to share photos of their happiest, most radiant moments. Thirty prizes will be awarded so women can live life more luminously. From March 4 through April 2, women can upload pictures to the POND’S® Facebook page or share via Twitter or Instagram by using the hashtag #LuminousEffect.

Molly Sims is supporting this campaign and has some tips for you on how to look and feel luminous. My favorites are:
  • Nighttime Ritual: I never go to bed without washing my face. As a busy mom, I go for time savers wherever possible. I like a cleanser that both cleanses and removes makeup in one step. POND’S® Luminous Clean™ Wet Cleansing Towelettes gently draws out trapped impurities and makeup to brighten dull skin.
  • Buff Your Way to Beautiful: For great circulation and even tone skin, I recommend exfoliating your face, body and even your lips. It can leave you looking good and feeling radiant in no time.
  • Find Your Center: Taming stress is important to help you look your luminous best. I use regular breathing exercises to help keep me calm and centered.
  • Lighten Up: When posing for pictures, I make a point to smile big. Your face will light up and you will instantly look and feel luminous.
When I'm feeling down and want to lift my spirits I put on one of my favorite items of clothing to make me feel luminous.  Anything from my Alexander Wang booties to a Marc Jacobs blazer instantly adds a spring to my step. What makes you feel luminous?

Now for the fun part! I get to offer one of you all four of the products I've talked about! The giveaway is open for 1 week and you must be in the USA to win.  To enter:
    • Be a follower of Closet Fashionista on Google OR Bloglovin
    • Leave a comment with your email address
    Bonus Entries:
I participated in this campaign for One2One Network. I received product to facilitate my post and monetary compensation, but all opinions stated are my own.
♪♫ Raaaven hair and ruby lips! Sparks fly from her fingertips! Echoed voices in the night, she's a restless spirit on an endless flight! Woo hoo witchy woman, see how high she flies, woo hoo witchy woman she got the moon in her eye ♪♫

Okay, enough of my singing, on to the outfit!  This is one of my purchases from the blogger meetup last month; it cost a whopping $10.  I have no idea what possessed me to purchase this, it isn't something I would normally buy, but I fell in love with it at the store.

Perhaps it's because it makes me feel like a witch, which subsequently helps me show my love for Harry Potter.  To keep with the Potter vibe I threw on my green snakeskin sweater (Slytherin! Even though I was sorted into Ravenclaw,) new lightening bolt ring and some Potter-esque necklaces.  I finished the look off with my awesome new Dolce & Gabbana mary janes that I got for a steal!

Skirt: Siena Style (Coco's), Sweater: T Babaton c/o Aritzia, Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana (Uptown Consignment), Bag: Chanel (Madison Avenue Couture), Phoenix: gift, Bird Skull: giveaway, Lightening Bolt Ring: RawEarthStudio

And I took a picture with one of my owl bookends because I'm a weirdo and didn't have any of my wands with me (yes...I have Hermione and Neville's wands, don't judge.)  I collect Harry Potter merchandise, my collection was featured in a book, be jealous.  Now that I think about it, I should have taken some shots with one of my books.
Happy March!! Why is it that February always seems to go so quickly even though its only 2 (or 3) days shorter than the other months?  I was oddly social this week. On Tuesday I went to get a pedicure with two friends from work, yesterday I went out to lunch with my "work team" (my boss & 2 others) AND last night I went out for drinks with my section of the office.  I had a Coke because I'm not an alcohol person; it tastes/feels gross, haha.  I should probably make more of an effort to try more kinds, but I'm lazy and it's too expensive anyway.

Blazer update: I've worn 8 blazers so far since starting my challenge, so I'm doing pretty well! This week I slipped one day because it was rainy & gross which made me want to throw on a super comfy sweater. But I think I can afford one "cheat day" per week, ha ha.
