I have to admit, looking at these pictures I'm not sure if I like this outfit. I wasn't sure about it then either, I guess it's because it is not something I would usually put together.  I wanted to wear heels with it but I was going shopping and didn't want my feet to die.

This outfit definitely shows my Marc Jacobs obsession. I should put on a whole Marc Jacobs outfit one day and see how crazy I look. I think I will, stay tuned...

Song of the Day: Helter Skelter by The Beatles

Blazer: thrifted (Good Will) $6, Top: thrifted $2, Skirt: H&M $15, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop) gift card, Watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Flats: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop) $95 with gift card

I love this outfit. I wore a variation of it to work last week but this is what I originally wanted. The snow foiled my attempts to wear it this way so I re-wore it over the weekend with my favorite wide leg jeans from Free People!

This is one of my favorite blazers but it hasn't gotten much wear yet, only 3 times if my memory serves me correctly.  I bought it last January when I went to New York for a Karl Lagerfeld & Net-a-Porter event. It is definitely going to be a major piece in my closet for years to come.

Song of the Day: Dreams by Fleetwood Mac

Blazer: The Extreme Collection (Second Time Around Vintage) $50, Top: Equipment (Marshalls) gift card, Wide Leg Jeans: Free People (Marshalls) $30, Sunglasses: Michael Kors (Marshalls) $20, Wedges: Crown Vintage (DSW) $35, Watch: Michael Kors

Even the inside looks expensive! It is just as beautiful as the outside, the lining is silk polka dots and more of the outer fabric. This is how you can tell a good quality piece folks: if the inside is as detailed as the outside.

No this week in fashion this week because I only went into the office for 2 days (you'll see those outfits next week.) I did work Mon-Thurs but I worked from home on Monday and yesterday because of weather.  This week it seems I'm all about lusts and shopping.  Today let's discuss one of my favorite things: The Outnet Clearance Sale! It's been going on for a few days so a lot of pieces are gone, but there are still a lot of gems left! Here are some of the pieces I'd love to add to my closet but probably won't (either because of sizing options or price.)

Have you or will you buy anything from the sale? Hurry up, there's only 4 days left! (The brown printed dress is one I own, seen here and here)

I promise next week we'll be back to having outfit posts! It's been a weird two weeks.
Things have been a bit busy and crazy this week, I mean we just had a hurricane and now a blizzard yesterday. So today I'm keeping things short and sweet. A few Winter inspiration photos from Stockholm Streetstyle.  I guess I'm really into coats this year, because all of these feature a statement coat or jacket.
This outfit is pure perfection!

Definitely going to recreate this with my new oversized blazer

This would be perfect this Winter with tights!
Today I thought I would share some of my current lusts for Fall/Winter (and one random pair of sandals)! There are so many things I would love to add to my wardrobe, but I probably won't be getting any, but we'll see, I may splurge on something.  Scroll through the gallery below to see and/or buy the items!

It's that time of the year when we all start to think about what to get family and friends for Christmas (except me, I start early.)  Maximal Art by John Wind has a great gift for anyone on your list, an initial necklace, bracelet or charm!  Everyone loves jewelry and these pieces are great because you can get an item with their initial which makes it more personal.

Giveaway Details: The winner can choose any item in the Initials Collection. The giveaway is open to my readers in the United States and will close on November 13th.

I'm wearing the "M" Inspired Initial Necklace in silver below. Each necklace comes with a sentiment inscribed on the side, my word is "muse," fun right?!  I'm also sporting my new-to-me thrifted blazer, which is a size 14, ha ha.  But I liked it, and oversized is in, so I bought it!

Blazer: thrifted $6, Tee: Banana Republic $9, Jeans: Genetic Denim c/o Piperlime, Heels: Candie's $12, Watch: Michael Kors, Sunglasses: Ray Ban "Emma" (TJ Maxx) gift card, Clutch c/o delachic, Necklace c/o Maximal Art
As Danny sang in Grease, "Sandy, can't you see, I'm in miseryyyy."  He wasn't singing about a hurricane in that line, but whatever.  I was fortunate enough to not be affected as badly as others but I have my Sandy story to share.  When my roommate and I heard about the storm we decided it would be smart to stay with our parents for the storm and take a lot of our things with us.  I took all my really good clothes and a few other things and moved the rest of my possessions off the floor and put them as high as they could go.  I figured the water wouldn't go that high if we flooded. Boy was I wrong.  The water went up at least 1 and a half feet in the house, the floor was soaking wet when my roommate went to check on the house on Tuesday.  There was also silt and dirt everywhere.  The driveway was covered in hay, driftwood, bottles and other random items.  Luckily everything I left made it through okay, except my mattress. I took the rest of my stuff back to my parents house and I will be stealing my brothers bed because he is at school right now.

Enough talk, here are some photos of how I spent my powerless week. We were out of power from Monday at 6pm until Sunday at around the same time. (We borrowed my grandparent's generator from Friday-Sunday because they got their power back so we had a tiny bit of power)

My house after the storm...all that brown is usually a driveway (the inside is worse and flooded)
Putting the rest of my stuff in the car
Sitting with candles
Eating ice cream so we didn't have to throw it away
Making Cinnamon buns on the grill

Playing Tsuro with the family (a fun and really quick game)
Playing Mario on an old Gameboy!
Toast on the grill!
Playing Apples to Apples (ignore how gross I look)
Took over part of my brothers room
