My brother got married last month in a small backyard ceremony. He had originally planned a larger event at a venue but he and his wife decided to postpone that until next year and do an intimate event at our parent's house this year. It was our immediate family, the wedding party, a couple of his friends and my Grandparents (which I was a little weary of.)

I've felt weird about posting this outfit because of current circumstances, but it has been over a month and no one in attendance got sick so I think we were successful in keeping to current protocols. My Mom made masks out of fancy fabric to match the decor on the tables and we tried to keep to our small bubbles of safety.

I bought this dress in June when I was still in wishful thinking mode that we'd be able to have the real wedding. But I guess the silver lining is I get to wear it again next year! This time I wore it with the Nicholas Kirkwood heels I wore for my own wedding, a necklace handed down to me from my Grandma (which I also wore to my wedding) and my cute pink ostrich Marc Jacobs bag. The bag was pretty much just a prop for these photos since I didn't actually need it.

This past weekend I went to my college best friend's wedding! I hadn't seen her since we graduated 4 years ago because she lives quite a while from me and we could never connect. It was great to see her on her special day and get to share it with her and was like no time had passed! We went right back to making crazy faces at each other from across the room. She and her fiance got married in the English Garden at Wickham Park and, since we were in nature, I thought it was the perfect day to wear the Anthropologie dress Lydia got me for my birthday last year after I saw it in a consignment store.  I'm sad it's taken me this long to actually wear it, but I wanted it's first outing to be perfect! It was only fitting that Lydia take my photos for me, so I had her take them a couple weeks before the wedding. It got some compliments, so I think I made the right choice!

It was a small wedding, less than 50 people, but I only knew one other person apart from my friend and her fiance, and that was the maid of honor. I also went to school with her and it was fun to catch up with her too! Although I stalk everyone on Facebook frequently, it's more fun to chat in person.  She even got me on the dance floor a few times which, if you know me, is a major feat! We were the crazy girls slow dancing together with all the couples.

Summer Shopping Challenge Outfits: Look #1 | Look #2 | Look #3 | Look #4

This month I am participating in ThredUp's Summer Shopping Challenge. I was given $100 to shop the store, and let me tell you, it took me FOREVER to go through the site searching for items to buy. There was so much to choose from! Rather than buy a full outfit with my gift card, I decided to buy a few pieces to spice up my Summer wardrobe! Over the next 4 days I'll be sharing the looks created with those items!

ThredUp offers slightly loved clothes for up to 90% off retail. For example, I found a Marc Jacobs dress I got a few years ago for a mere $79.49 on ThredUp; it retailed for almost $300. There is another Marc Jacobs dress I've wanted since I saw Keira Knightly wear it for only $48.99! They have amazing designers such as Rag & Bone, Burberry, Tory Burch and, of course, Marc Jacobs!

Not in a purchasing mood? You can also send some of your clothes to ThredUp to earn some extra cash! I sent a bunch of my unwanted clothes last week and am waiting for them to be evaluated so I can make some extra shopping money. Also, if you sign up with this link, you'll get a $10 shopping credit - what are you waiting for?!

For this outfit I styled a Free People top I scored for $10.99 as well as a pair of Sam Edelman sandals I scooped up for $14.49. How do you beat those prices? Also, while looking at the photos, sing Summer Breeze in your head since that's what I was doing.

This jacket has become my official Easter jacket. I feel weird wearing it most of the time, but the light yellow shade makes it perfect for Easter.  This was what I wore for our celebrations on Saturday with my Dad's side of the family.  This Carven dress is already getting lots of use! I am already planning to wear it again for a blogger get together next month, unless the weather doesn't cooperate.

Don't let the sun in these photos fool you, this Sunday we went back to cold temperatures. Despite the low temps, I've slowly begun to inject some Spring pieces back into my outfits.  It is time for the return of my cute floral jeans from Target and the introduction of my new Keds! Funny how things you used to wear as a child find their way back into your wardrobe. I used to wear Keds ALL the time, but the brand has not seen my feet in over 10 years.

Sweater: Phillip Lim x Target, Jeans: Target, Sneakers: Keds (DSW), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Sunglasses: Ray-Ban "Emma" (Marshalls), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Necklace: Grandma's, Bracelets: Ten Thousand Villages, Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

A couple weeks ago I was getting rid of pieces in my closet and brought them over for my mom and sister to dig through.  My mom came up with the brilliant idea of turning this old Hollister dress into a skirt.  I love having a mother who sews (she used to make a good portion of my clothes when I was younger.)  I wore it REALLY high up here and threw the sweater my Grandmother made on top. But the skirt goes below my knees if I wear it on my actual hips. So now I have a myriad of ways to wear it.

It's always hard to get rid of pieces, even things you never wear anymore. I try to do it gradually but sometimes I do a big wardrobe cull. But sometimes all it takes is a little bit of re-imagining for a piece to find a spot in your wardrobe again. I have to do that with this leather skirt I bought for $10, it's just too long. I want to shorten it so it is more like this Burberry London skirt.  First I have to find a tailor and make myself go, ha ha...

On Sunday I traveled the long mile and a half to my parents house for our Memorial Day barbeque. It was FREEZING (not really, but cold for this time of year) so I went in jeans and a sweater. I ended up having to borrow one of my Mom's big sweaters because it was really windy and we were sitting outside.

In other news, the Net-a-Porter US end of season sale started!!!!

Behold, my outfit for my friend's graduation party! It was a lot of fun, although very cold! It was supposed to be in the 70s, but it definitely was not. At one point we got into a conversation with one of his Aunt's about my weird eating habits (I am very picky) and my social phobia. She was very intrigued, ha ha.  I miss seeing them (the boys and their parents) all the time, we used to have so much fun. But now all us children are grownup (and the boys live in NYC and Boston) so we don't see each other that much. Depressing!
