I wore this for a Saturday spent running errands, going out to lunch, walking in the park and a very impromptu visit with one of my oldest friends! She lives right down the street from the park we like to walk at so I texted her to see if they were home. Didn't get an answer (not unusual, she has a 1 year old!) so we decided to drive by on our way out and she happened to be outside! We hung out for a few hours and chatted, she was able to get to know Christian a little more since we haven't hung out as a couple all that much. Sometimes a random visit is all you need, so refreshing. Both of us are HORRIBLE at planning because I won't invite myself to hang out with people and she's so busy she forgets, haha! Struggles.

A couple weekends ago Christian and I headed up to Vermont for the weekend to camp and see the Autumn foliage. Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas so we ended up sleeping in the car and not being able to have a fire or make s'mores. At least we still were able to enjoy the changing leaves in between breaks in the rain on Saturday (and no rain on Sunday!)
Saturday we spent the morning/early afternoon in Manchester where we had lunch at Thai Basil. We intended to go to the North Meadow Farms Fall Festival but it was pushed back by a day because of the rain so we headed back to our campground in Jamaica after a pit-stop at the Newfane Heritage Festival. We had hoped for another break in the rain to grill up some hamburgers and hot dogs but ended up having to go out again for dinner. We chose the Workhorse Cafe and got some of their Saturday night barbecue special. It was okay, but we wished we chose another location for what we spent.
I had just gotten new rain boots in the mail the day we left for the trip, which was ideal! My dav rain boots I have had for years have been showing their age by peeling up at the top so it was time for a replacement. I searched multiple higher end stores for the style I wanted but nothing really matched my needs. Then I saw Target had a Circle offer for 30% off shoes and decided to look and found these A New Day rain boots. They also had a coupon for sweaters so I took the opportunity to grab this fun striped sweater. The colors matched all the leaves and green grass perfectly, ha ha.

Who doesn't love a good festive sweater?! I've had this one from J Crew for quite a few years and always love breaking it out. Usually I wait until after Thanksgiving but I went to the New England Christmas Festival the first weekend of this month and wanted to dress on theme! A lady at the show even commented on my perfect coordination, ha ha.
Unfortunately, the event was a little lackluster for me overall. Since it's only 1 weekend they don't really decorate the venue all that much. It also was a lot of non-Christmas items and if I'm going to a Christmas Festival I want it to be pretty much all holiday themed and maybe some fun giftable food items. I bought a cute snowman and Christmas tree ornament but not sure if it was really worth the $15 admission fee, but that could just be me. Christkindlmarkt in Bethlehem, PA (my photos) was much more fun, but also a lot further away, ha ha.

Finally getting around to posting photos from Halloween, just in time for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a perfect Dall day in the park. The trees were definitely showing off and the park was very crowded! Luckily we found a quiet corner to take some photos in. I've had this sweater since May 2020 but this is the first time it's getting outfit photos not taken in my closet. I even wore the same jeans this time because they're the perfect match.
A very similar version - higher neck, slightly different owl and a little darker - is available on eBay or Vestiaire Collective. It's actually the one I DIYed years ago. Sadly, it's not as good of a deal as I got. I still can't believe the seller let it go for $75. WOWZA! According to the eBay listing they "bought [it] from Net-a-Porter for £1595. This piece sold out almost instantly and is now an iconic, almost impossible to find Burberry Prorsum collector’s item."

[...] ESPECIALLY the owl print t-shirts. I don't care how much they cost but I am going to get my hands on one of those! I'm an owl obsessed freak…maybe it comes from my Harry Potter obsession but I think they are SO cute!Spoiler alert: I ended up not getting one of the owl tees. Instead I DIYed my own version because I couldn't justify the $300+ price tag. The sweater version with the beaded owl retailed for $3000.
Even though I had my DIY version I still searched for the real version. I had alerts for "Burberry owl" set up on eBay and a couple other sites. Owl sweaters & tees came and went with me resisting purchase. A few months ago I got an eBay alert that one had been posted. I watched it knowing I probably wouldn't buy it since it had been so long.
But then quarantine happened and I got an offer from the seller to purchase it for $75. How could I resist? Luckily I was able to make the splurge because my recent Disney trip was cancelled and I had a negative balance on my credit card from the refunds. The rest of the refund money will go back into my vacation savings account.
This isn't the exact version I had posted 8 years ago, the sweater is a little lighter and the neck isn't as high, but it is pretty darn close! You can even tell that the owl I recreated was this owl - the colors I chose were very similar. I couldn't replicate the design exactly because I couldn't find small enough beads in colors/shapes I liked.
We're getting in to warmer weather now but I really wanted to post this before it goes away until Fall. Luckily last week we had some cold days so I wore it lounging around the house.
The cardigan is actually a size or two too big for me but I loved it when I saw it and all other sizes were sold out so I took a risk and bought the large. I'm glad I did because it allows me to double layer thick sweaters and acts as a coat on colder days. To offset the chunkiness of the sweater I paired it with skinny jeans.
