Decided to go with a bit of green in today's throwback since it's Christmas this weekend! This is the second to last outfit I wore to work in NYC. The company I was working for at the time finally allowed me to start working from home every day after this. Woohoo! Ha ha. I switched this up a TEEEEENY bit by tucking in the sweater to show off the high-waist of the skirt.

Sweater: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Skirt: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Shoes: MICHAEL Michael Kors (DSW), Necklace: Acanthus Jewelry (giveaway)

The Original:

This getting dark early business is not going to make outfit pictures easy. Fortunately for me, last week 2 of my friends visited during the day so I had them take photos for me so I wouldn't have to drag out my tripod. On this day I went out to lunch with my friend Jenna. It was pretty warm so I didn't need both sweaters, but the look was a little boring with just one. But two is better than one, right?

Cardigan: Ralph Lauren (Lord & Taylor), Sweater: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Jeans: Michael Kors (Marshalls), Boots: Cordani (Roundabout Resale), Necklace c/o UncommonGoods

We interrupt vacation recaps for this special post! Check back tomorrow for more from Florida!

*The boots featured in this post were a gift from Duo Boots. All opinions are my own.*

Earlier this month, Duo Boots emailed to ask if I wanted to participate in their #MyDuo Style Guide campaign.  I was sent a pair of boots to style up in two different ways. I chose the "Ani" Chelsea boot because I was in desperate need of navy shoes, and the style is really cool. I first wore them out to dinner with my friend Kat (outfit #2) and again the following day for some shopping (outfit #1) where I spent way too much money! I actually changed into a new jacket after I bought it, so you're seeing the results of my shopping!

Outfit #1: Blazer: Paul Smith (Roundabout Resale), Sweater: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Necklace: Mom's, Boots c/o Duo 'Ani'
Outfit #2: Dress: vintage (Twitch Vintage), Blazer: Elie Tahari (Coco's on the Green), Boots c/o Duo 'Ani'

Super short post today because I'm not really a fan of how this outfit turned out. But, rather than delete the photos and forget it ever happened, I figured I would share them anyway.  I wanted to wear this sweater, because it's awesome. But I didn't want to wear it with jeans again so I decided to pair it with these pants. I had wanted to wear heels, but sadly have no heels that matched, so I was reduced to wearing flats which make me look frumpy in these pants. And, to top it all off, this outfit is not photogenic at all! I wanted to delete every single picture, but I figure it's okay to show you guys that I'm not perfect. Not that my photos are perfect to begin with, but you get what I mean. It was good in theory, just not execution.

So there you have it...stick with what you know, folks! If I had just worn jeans, as is my uniform, this would have been a much better outfit.

Sweater: Phillip Lim x Target, Pants: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Flats: Liz Claiborne (DSW), Watch:  Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Henry Dinky' (Gilt)

Examples of both pieces in much better outfits:

A quick two-photo post today to share what I wore to celebrate my Grandma's birthday this past weekend. The family went to one of our favorite restaurants for lunch then back to her house for cake! not sure this was the best color combo, but none of the shoes I wanted to wear were working, so I settled for these.

P.S. Today is my sister's birthday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAINA! :) (even though she doesn't read this)

Cashmere Sweater: Paolo Rodesco (Roundabout Resale), Pants: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Heels: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Watch c/o Movado & Lucky

Here's a closer look at last Monday's outfit.  I wanted to wear my Chanel skirt again before it got too hot, so I decided to make it more Spring-like with the bright green sweater. It's so nice to be able to walk to work without a huge coat, it makes such a difference in the enjoyment. I walk 1.5 miles to and from the office so to be able to move more freely is always a plus.

We almost had a full Spring-like week, sadly yesterday it was back to the freezing cold temperatures. But Monday and Tuesday I enjoyed walking to work without freezing, I actually overheated from my speed walking. Last night I went to dinner with a couple friends (and some new friends) after work.

I have a nice backlog of outfit posts going for me, we'll see how long that lasts.  Anywhoo, I wore this the weekend before Christmas to go see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug with my best friend.  So good! People always expect me to say Harry Potter movies are my favorite, but it's actually the magical land of Middle Earth that holds my heart in films. (in books, however, it's Potter all the way.)

It was on the warmer side this day so I decided to forgo a coat and wore a sweater with a blazer.  And I had to wear my new favorite shoes even though there was rain in the forecast. Luckily the rain didn't come until I had made it home. I did have a backup pair of shoes in the car ready for action.

This past Saturday I had a date night with Christine and Lydia thanks to Marshalls! They sent a gift card to a local restaurant, Outriggers, and a gift card to buy an outfit!  I went shopping a couple weekends ago and narrowed it down to two outfits - see the shopping post here.  On the actual day I decided to go with my leather skirt option...sans tights.  It was a little cold, but definitely worth it for my fun look!

We started off our date by going to the restaurant to take photos before it got too dark. Then we headed to Marshalls which was only 2 minutes from the restaurant to do some shopping. I picked up a fun Christmas bowl, rice cooker and another little bowl while Lydia did some of her Christmas gift shopping!  Then we headed back to the restaurant for our meal, which was delicious!

My two lovely dates for the evening:

Kenar Sweater - $24.99 at Marshalls, compare at $50
Sans Souchi Skirt - $12.99 at Marshalls, compare at $18
Other items: Miu Miu sandals (eBay), Chanel purse,  Skagen watch (Rue La La), vintage & Mom's rings, Gorjana Griffin necklace (c/o), Acanthus 'Gemma' necklace (giveaway),  old necklace and coat from Lydia
