I've decided to turn this week into monochromatic week, so here's a third one for you!  This dress was my sisters but I rescued it from her "get rid of" pile before it was donated. Sadly, I ripped the dress getting out of my car! I was pulling it down and one of the ruffles just ripped right off. Can't decide if I should bother fixing it or not.

Speaking of closet-cleanouts. It is probably time for me to do another one. But it's so hard getting rid of things, you form attachments to them and they feel like a piece of you. Then you have to remind yourself that they are just things and don't define you.

Dress: BCX (Kohls), Sweater: Forever 21 (super old), Sandals: b.o.c. (Marshalls), Sunglasses c/o GlassesShop

Another monochromatic look for you all to enjoy (or not enjoy.) This time with more of a Fall color scheme with my second favorite color: BURGUNDY! These pants are perfect for the transitional time between Summer and Fall because they're so light and breezy but also keep me warm if it gets chilly. It probably would have been smarter to finish this outfit off with flats, but I always feel too pajama-ish when I wear these with flats because of their fit.

Tee: H&M, Pants: Maison Scotch c/o Lucky and Aritzia, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses c/o GlassesShop,Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Cuff c/o 9th & Elm, Watch: Skagen (RueLaLa), Initial Necklace c/o Gorjana, Number Necklace: Bijou Limon (etsy)

Summer Shopping Challenge Outfits: Look #1 | Look #2 | Look #3 | Look #4

We're back at the library again today. I just couldn't resist the marble steps and door for these photos as well. I feel like this outfit would be perfect for a nighttime reception or gala...maybe not though. For this third ThredUp look I styled a MICHAEL Michael Kors caftan that I got for $28.49 (I found the same one on eBay for $54.) I was going to wear it with white jeans, but my old self got the better of me and I reverted to dark gray ones.  They make my legs look skinnier and I don't have to worry about getting them dirty! Ha ha.

Top: Michael Kors c/o ThredUp, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Bag: Chanel (Madison Avenue Couture), Sandals: Simply Vera Wang (Kohl's), Sunglasses: Cole Haan c/o Marshalls, Lightening Bolt Necklace: Bubu Ruby,  Initial Necklace c/o Gorjana, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

I wore this the day we went to go see Jimmy Fallon tape his Monday show! Then we headed to Margaritaville at Universal's CityWalk for dinner. Basically a nice, laid back day! Sadly these sunglasses did not make it home. I somehow lost them one of the nights of the trip. They were in my camera bag and must have fallen out when I was rushing to put stuff away...so depressing! Maybe my Marshalls will have another pair.

Dress: ELLE (Kohl's), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals "Athena" (Gilt), Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Necklace: Geoclassics, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's, Sunglasses: Etienne Aigner c/o Marshalls

When I saw the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2014 collection I knew I would be able to recreate a couple of the looks with a top Oasis sent me last year. The collection had some outfits featuring skyline shirts of London (some of which are available on NET-A-PORTER right now!).  I did the first look when I went to New York a couple weeks ago, seen here, and today I'm sharing the second look!

Here are both looks side by side with the inspiration. What do you think?

Over the past 2 weeks I've been using Physicians Formula's Va Va Voom Mascara to test out it's claims of being non-smearing/smudging and ability to get you the perfect Spring eye. I even tried using different eye shadows as well as my usual "spices" from Chanel.  But, before we get to that, how adorable is the packaging? I love the little shoe charm, such a cute added touch.

The product did not smear or smudge during the time I wore it and came off pretty easily with my usual makeup remover, no hard scrubbing. It also has a great smell, probably the result of the cocoa extract and vanilla and musk infused into the product; that's why it's called the "Sexy Booster." I'd say it's definitely worth the $9.99 and is going to be one of my regular mascaras, I'm always trying new ones so I never say one is my absolute favorite.

Here are the looks I created with the mascara. I'm all about simple, especially when it starts getting warmer. Who wants to go crazy with their makeup if it's going to melt off?

Look 1: Used purple eyeshadow, blush, lipstick & mascara
Look 2: Used green eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, liquid eyeliner & mascara
Look 3: Used gold eyeshadow, blush, lipstick & mascara
Look 4: Used lipstick & mascara

I wore this last week to go out to dinner with my best friends. I went for a pretty casual look since we were just going to be stuffing our faces.  But I did put on the awesome new House of Harlow necklace I picked up at the trunk show South Moon Under had last week! Isn't it cool?!  I also wore a super cool bag I won from Tiffany last month, it's a crossbody but you can take off each of the sections and use them as a clutch.

Tee: Everlane, Jeans: American Eagle, Wedges: Simply Vera Wang (Kohl's), Crossbody bag: Wink and Winn (giveaway), Necklace: House of Harlow 1960 "Multi Arrowhead Necklace" (South Moon Under Trunk Show), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

Since I had time to kill before going out, I tried out the Jane Iredale Starter Kit that Vogue sent me. It was really simple to use, especially with the cute instruction illustrations on the box.  I used Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener first; it went on very smooth and not at all greasy. I followed that up with Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder since I wanted it to be light (I don't normally wear foundation). It went on super easy and isn't heavy at all. Then I completed my regular makeup (eyeshadow, blush, mascara and lipstick) and finished up with the POMMISST Hydration Spray.  It gave a nice freshness to the end of my routine and I applied it a couple times during the night when I needed some hydration.

You might notice something else different about my makeup in the photos above - I did a red lip!!! I was brave and used Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil (in 69) and Revolution Lipstick (in F-Bomb); also from Vogue. It was surprisingly easy to apply and looked great, I may try it again soon if I feel brave enough.

Don't worry, I don't actually wear these shoes outside in Winter. I walk in flats and change into them once I'm inside where it's warm.  This is a "casual" weekend outfit, I added the shoes to feel a bit more dressed up, but they didn't stay on long.

We enjoyed a freezing cold few days this past weekend, I'm getting rather tired of the cold but at least I still get to wear all my sweaters! I am looking forward to warmer temperatures though, but I would be fine with 60s.

Sweater: Ralph Lauren c/o Marshalls, Tee: H&M, Jeans: rag & bone (Shopbop), Boots: Alexander Wang (The Outnet), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted, $2!), Necklace c/o Gorjana Griffin, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban "Emma" (Marshalls), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's
