Last weekend I attended a special preview of The Content Lab at West Hartford Coworking. For $60 an hour you can rent this room at West Hartford Coworking for all your blogging needs. They have equipment for podcasting, photos, video and more. The space is super bright and full of natural light. (and how cool is the glass pod?! Perfect for private phone calls.)
They're hosting a Holiday party there this Friday night and it is open to the community so you don't have to be a blogger to go! If you'd like to attend you can purchase tickets here.
Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures with my blazer on, but imagine this oversized burgundy blazer over the top of this. So 70s. But I wore my new Splendid striped top for the occasion and got a few compliments! It's sooo soft and I'm in love with the color combination.
Striped Top: Splendid 'Duke' striped pullover c/o Shopbop (shop more Splendid), Flare Jeans: Free People (shop more Free People), Booties: Tabitha Simmons 'Elisa' for Runway to Green via Roundabout Resale (shop more Tabitha Simmons boots), Bag: Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Sac D'Epaule (HauteTrader)

I finally crossed two places off my bucket list this past weekend when I went to visit my youngest brother. He lives close to Mystic, in Connecticut, so we went to Mystic Pizza! I'm not a huge fan of the movie (I know, I know) but I do enjoy good pizza and this was AMAZING. Christian and I shared the Texas Chicken Pizza and it was so good! We also had some of their fries, which he said were some of the best fries he's ever had.
Next on the agenda was Sift Bake Shop! Christian and I love watching all of the seasonal baking competitions on Food Network - Holiday Baking Championship, Spring, Kids, etc. One season a man from Mystic, Adam Young, was on Spring Baking! He made it to the final three that season and also went on to win Best Baker in America on Food Network. He was known for his beautifully made desserts and the ones in his bakery look like they could be on TV. I wish I could have tried everything but settled on the chocolate hazelnut praline and chocolate raspberry torte. Both were delicious!
Jacket: thrifted, Double V-Neck Cashmere Sweater: Calypso St. Barth 'Gylden' (Gilt), High Waisted Jeans: J Brand 'Maria' High Rise in Supreme (Gilt Groupe), Boots: Audrey Brooke 'Mirie' (DSW), Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay)

Three of the pieces in this outfit are old favorites. My first designer purchase, one of my first shoe splurges (that were actually a birthday gift) and my favorite jeans ever. Sadly I don't wear the Free People jeans often because they're super old and in that odd wrinkly stage that stretch jeans get to. You can probably tell in the photos in certain spots. I have 2 pairs of these because I kept buying searching for them on eBay and then one pair that's similar but not exactly the same.
The Marc Jacobs velvet polka dot blazer was my first designer purchase. I tried to find it for months after Emma Watson wore it (in a different color) in Teen Vogue. I bought it for $80 (and a second one for $20 8 years later because I needed to go up a size. I still have the original in my closet for nostalgic reasons.)
My Alexander Wang Freja boots were a birthday gift from my parents in 2011 - meaning I told my mom I wanted them and she said 'order them for your birthday!' I do love a good statement shoe that never goes out of style. There are a few of these available on eBay (originally from his Spring 2010 collection) and some other sources but you have to be careful when looking for these because AW also made a cheaper version for the H&M collection which won't be as nice/high quality as these. I linked to only the "real" ones below but you can search for AW x H&M boots and find the other version.
Blazer: Marc by Marc Jacobs polka dot velvet jacket (eBay, green one here), V-Neck Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Peep-Toe Boots: Alexander Wang suede Freja boot in brick red (The Outnet), Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay, exact bag here), Necklace: Marrin Costello
Speaking of favorites - I wore this outfit on Monday to check out the recently renovated Luna Pizza in West Hartford. Before I went my Aunt told me it's one of her and my Uncle's favorite places to go for pizza. After going myself I can see why! I'm not normally a thin crust fan, but their pizzas are delicious. I wanted to keep eating all night!
While there I sampled their meatballs, garlic knots a baby spinach salad with strawberries and three pizzas! All the appetizers were delicious, especially the salad. Lydia, Jen and I tried the BBQ Pulled Pork, White and Margherita pizzas. They were all super good. The white pizza is just mozzarella, romano, garlic, parsley, and olive oil and it was amazing. The BBQ pulled pork had the perfect amount of sweetness from the BBQ sauce and the Margherita pizza was loaded with fresh tomatoes. I finished my meal with a delectable chocolate torte. It was very smooth and really chocolatey, just how I like it! I will definitely return to Luna Pizza if I'm ever in the area again.

Last Friday I was able to attend a blogger preview of the newly opened Boscov's at the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford! Boscov's is a family owned department store and this Milford location is their 47th store. Boscov's is the largest family owned department store chain in the nation; selling clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, watches, home items, bedding, and toys!
Our day started with breakfast and an introduction to the brand by Jim Boscov himself! He really loves his brand and makes sure that the stores all uphold the family-friendly values of the original store in Reading, PA. Boscov's aims to open one store per year with the reasoning that they take the time to find the perfect location and everyone at the company spends weeks preparing the co-workers at these new stores. They are also committed to the communities they have stores in and make sure to support local charities. At this year's grand opening they had a ribbon cutting ceremony with $100 bills and each one went to a member agency of the United Way of Milford and $1000 for the United Way.
The Connecticut Post Mall in Milford is currently in a redevelopment phase to revitalize the shopping center. In addition to Boscov's, they will also be opening a Dave & Busters, Muse Paintbar and Kidz Klub. Soon The Post will be your one stop shop for activities whether that's going to the gym, seeing a movie or shopping for anything you need!
The store is THREE packed floors of merchandise offering anything you could possible need or want. They have all the brand names you're used to in a department store at even better prices! No one is left out when it comes to clothing. They carry petites, plus sizes, kids, misses, adults, mens and they have an amazing men's suits section!
I walked out with a $29.99 cashmere sweater, $60 Mickey pearl earrings and two $5 long sleeve tees for Christian. In addition to those already low prices we were given a 15% off coupon and a $15 gift card for our purchases! Mr Boscov also treated us each to a pound of DELICIOUS fudge! I got dark chocolate and it's amazing! So smooth and only $5.99 a pound! Unfortunately I had to return the tees I bought because they were too big and they didn't carry Smalls in the styles I bought. I also ended up exchanging the cashmere sweater for two sweaters (dark ruby and dark teal) that were only $9.99 each and just as soft, haha. I went back with my parent's and Christian yesterday so they could check out the store.
Make sure to head to the store this week to check out all their grand opening sales! In addition, Debbie Boone - of You Light Up My Life fame - will be performing daily at 2pm and 7pm!
The store also has an auditorium where they hold all sorts of classes and events. They even have a Melissa & Doug play area within the toy section!
And, if you plan on doing some holiday shopping, make sure to stop by the courtesy desk for complimentary gift wrapping on your purchases!
*I was invited to a preview of the store and received a 15% coupon and $15 gift card as compensation. I was not required to write this post but chose to because I enjoyed experience.*
