It has been a WHILE since I did a Net-a-Porter sale roundup. The sale started this week and I thought I'd go through like I used to back in the day and pick out what I'd buy. Obviously this is a mix of things I would want if money was no object and items that are more reasonably priced. I probably won't be buying anything in this year's sale but I do miss my tradition of buying 1 item twice a year (during their Summer and Winter sales.) Some of my favorite pieces in my closet, like my Lanvin City sandals, are from the sale.
Here are my quick tips for the sale.
- Go through every page of the NetaPorter sale (at least the categories you wear) and add EVERYTHING you like to your cart
- Wait until the end of the sale to purchase because you can get up to 85% off this way
- If there is something you REALLY love, that you know will sell out, you may want to buy right away. Some of the items I like have only a few left in stock, so I have to weigh how much I want them versus other items on my wishlist.
- Check the "Whats New To Sale" section every few days for new items added
- Keep checking your cart to see if anything goes down in price enough for you to buy early
- At the end of the sale, see what's left and pick your favorite item(s)
- I usually try to get one big piece but some years I get a few lower priced pieces
- You'll know that the sale is coming to a close when Netaporter starts to offer an extra 15% off.

I always have a Shopbop wishlist going so it was super easy to know pieces I wanted to check out during the sale! Sales are the perfect time to get deals on designer pieces!
I don't have much going on this Spring but I wouldn't say no to a new Easter outfit or some pieces to wear on my upcoming trip to Disney. A few items on my personal shopping list are a tissue thin gray cardigan, a new pair of denim shorts, khaki or dress shorts, light rain jacket and maybe a couple fun printed pieces. Perhaps I'll splurge on a gorgeous printed dress by Camilla. Or possibly a 9th pair of Ancient Greek Sandals, my warm weather shoe addiction.
Here are some of my picks and a bunch of pieces under $100 (even before the discounts.)
I'm personally on the hunt for a pair of mid-wash skinny jeans as my favorite pair are on their way out. I also wouldn't say no to another bag, cute sweater or pair of shoes! If you're on a budget (like I usually am,) shop pieces under $100!

I always have a Shopbop wishlist going thanks to their hearts system so it was super easy to keep an eye on pieces I wanted to check out during the sale! I'm all about finding designer pieces at a great price and sales are the perfect time! Here are some of my picks and a bunch of pieces under $100 (before the discounts.) There are still some splurges in here, but the holidays are the time to treat yourself - and others - right?
I wrote this post before the sale started so some of these items may be excluded from the sale. Hopefully not many!
Sweaters
We all know I have a sliiiiight sweater obsession, so obviously new ones will be at the top of my shopping list! I'm actually on the hunt for a nice dark brown sweater since that's a color I'm lacking in my closet. And I'm all about a novelty knit with a quirky print. I also have a bunch of basic Vince sweaters because they have some great colors and silhouettes that are always in style.Jeans
You can always use more jeans, and why not use the sale as an opportunity to stock up on your favorite designer styles. I've been waiting for a good sale to add a couple more pairs to my wardrobe. Currently I'm in need of another mid-wash jean and something non-skinny that I can wear on days where I want a bit of a looser fit.Dresses
One of my best friends is getting married after the new year and while it would be more prudent to wear a dress I own I can't help but drool over other options. I might also want to add more everyday dresses to my closet because they're so easy. Maybe a nice new sweater dress or a Summer dress for next year.Shoes
Is there such a thing as too many shoes? I don't think so! There are so many options you can pick up during the buy more, save more sale. A pair for everyone!Handbags
I don't need any more bags, but that doesn't stop me from drooling over them! Shopbop has everything from mini bags and crossbody bags to totes and backpacks!Bottoms / Jumpsuits
I want to start wearing more non-jeans as bottoms so I've been on the hunt for some nice pairs of pants and shorts. Apparently I have a thing for green bottoms for Summer. I also have quite a few jumpsuits on my list, it must be the prints (and simplicity of styling.)Outerwear
It's been a couple years since I bought a new coat so now might be the time to add another to my rotation. I think I only have 3 coats, which is small for a place that's below 30 degrees for at least 4 months of the year, usually more.- Go through every page of the sale and add EVERYTHING you like to your cart
- Wait until the end of the sale to purchase because you can get up to 85% off this way
- If there is something you REALLY love, that you know will sell out, I give you permission to buy right away (I try to avoid this as much as possible but have done it in the past - see these shoes)
- Check the "Whats New To Sale" section every few days for new items added
- Keep checking your cart to see if anything goes down in price enough for you to buy early
- At the end of the sale see what's left and pick your favorite item(s)
- I usually try to get only 1 big thing but some years I get a few lower priced pieces
I will be updating this list throughout the day as there are over 250 pages of clothes alone! (I already went through all the shoes, accessories, bags and other categories...) Click on any of the images below to shop the items!
The Outnet Sale Picks:
My process: On the first day of the sale I go through every item and add anything I like to my sale wish list and/or cart, not paying attention to price. After everything I like is in my wish list I let it sit there. Slowly items sell out and I go through and get rid of things I definitely won't wear. I also wait until the final reductions, which come in a few weeks. This is risky, but also good for my wallet. If an item I have been lusting over for a long time shows up in the sale I may purchase it in the first round, but that is rare. The only example I can think of is my Burberry Prorsum calf-hair loafers.
Here's what I have on my wishlist!
Since I've been slacking on outfit posts lately, I decided to bring back one of my old blog features - Closet Worthy - where I feature things I would love to add to my closet. Today I'm putting my tiny spotlight on Sofia Zakia. If you have read through my wedding posts, you will know that my wedding band and engagement ring are both by Sofia Zakia. The engagement ring is a customized version of her Wandering Star ring and my band is the Altair ring that fits into it.
Sofia Ajram (Zakia is a name she created for her label) hand-makes all her jewelry in a Montreal studio. I believe she recently hired a few other people to help out but when we bought my rings it was just her. Sofia is very committed to using ethically sourced materials for all her pieces from diamonds to opals and other gemstones. Last year she won The Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent in Accessories at the Canada Arts & Fashion Awards.
What I love about her pieces is that they have a mystical element to them which makes them unique. She uses unique sources for her inspiration such as Sailor Moon, Zelda, UFOs, Tarot and more. What's funny about this is I'm obsessed with Sailor Moon and my husband loves Zelda. I guess we were meant to find each other and then Sofia!
Below are some of her other pieces I want to add to my jewelry collection.
Serena Earrings
Most of you will know I don't change out my earrings often so for me to want a pair of earrings they have to be GOOD. As I mentioned above I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan and this earring is inspired by Serena's earrings when she transforms into Sailor Moon. They're so playful and pretty and I love that only Sailor Moon fans will realize they're a geeky reference.
Rainbow Stardust Ring
This is a band version of my engagement ring and it's so much fun! There is a plain diamond version but if I'm going to spend a lot of money on another ring by Sofia I want it to be bold! She also made a sapphire version at one point so I'm sure you could customize this to use and color(s) you want!
Those first two are pieces I will hopefully save up for in the future. Here are some more gorgeous pieces I would be happy to own as well!

** I was not paid for this post, I just really enjoy Sofia's work
Everyone is always posting about the huge Nordstrom sale or the millions of Madewell, Sephora, Old Navy and Loft sales. I partake some of those, but my real sale of the year is the Net-a-Porter End of Season Sale. Why? It only happens twice a year and it’s when I allow myself a splurge or two (or three) on a designer item I’ve been wanting. Net-a-Porter doesn’t do any other sales apart from one in the Winter and one in the Summer. The Winter sale started on Tuesday and here is what’s on my wish list! I'll be updating the shoppable boutique below the main image as more items are added to the sale!
Unfortunately I may have to sit the sale out this time thanks to a mortgage payment, bills and grown-up things (GRR!) but I do have a bit of money put away in a clothing fund so we'll see!
P.S. Their sister site The Outnet's Clearance sale ALSO started!!
My process: On the first day of the sale I go through every item and add anything I like to my sale wish list, not paying attention to price. Yes, I am insane. But I have a system... If I do that, I don't wear the item until the sale is over. Why do you ask? Because it could go more on sale and I can buy it again and return one (they don't do price adjustments during the sale) or I may find something better when final reductions start and I can return the more expensive piece in favor of something that is kinder to my wallet.

Are you a shoes or bag girl? Most people are one or the other. While I do skew more toward shoes I love a well-made handbag. (Ex: my Chanel and Emm Kuo splurges) I'm a huge Burberry fan and have a couple pairs of shoes by the brand, what I need next is a Burberry handbag! I'm not talking about the iconic Burberry plaid, I'd go for one of the more unique bags.
Sadly the ones I like are a bit expensive, but thanks to Lyst I can keep an eye on pieces I like and find out when they go on sale. With Lyst you can follow your favorite brands and people to be the first to see the latest looks and lyst items you love to receive sale and stock alerts. I have emails set up for certain brands and items, which is a bad idea for my wallet but great for finding out when my favorite things are back in stock or go on sale.
I'm a big fan of brighter bags because they go with everything. So as you can see there's a bright purple Burberry bag below!
