This is one of my oldest dresses. It's from back when I considered American Eagle expensive and would debate purchases there for house while my friends were buying whatever they pleased. My how times have changed, now I can spend $40 on a dress and not blink an eye - although I still question myself, haha! I've had it for at least 12 years and I think it's only been on the blog 3 times (here, here and here...oh wait, one more!)

It's something I throw on when it's hot and I don't know what to wear. A nice plus is I don't have to wear a bra with it. Always a plus in Summer! AND it has pockets, can't beat that! I guess I never think to take photos in it because it's so old. It's definitely faded over the years but still looks pretty darn good.

Dress: American Eagle (similar), Espadrilles: Sam Edelman 'Lars' (Net-a-Porter), Bag:: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Perfect Purse ostrich-effect PVC' (Net-a-Porter), Necklace: BubuRuby, Sunglasses: Gucci

  1. I think paying $40 for something that you still own and wear 12 years later means you made a pretty solid investment - and this is a really pretty dress.

  2. It's such a cute summer sundress! I love simple dresses like this with a fun print - they are such easy pull on and go outfits! it's impressive you've had this for so long too!

Hope that your week is off to a great start :)

  3. Good for you for holding on to things and really getting your cost per wear down! I remember the days when $40 was a HUGE amount of money! Though maybe I should act like it is...

    1. I'm getting back to that stage now that I have a house, haha! But I'd still rather spend $200 on one thing than $20 each on 10 things, so that's an improvement from my early shopping days

    1. I've worn it like 4 times in the past 2 weeks when I've just run out and not felt like putting anything "special" (aka something I had to think about) on, haha!! So definitely worn a lot
