{outfit} The Hawiaiian

Hawaiian shirts are apparently having a comeback. Something I didn't realize until I began searching for style inspiration for this Miu Miu top I picked up thrifting last year for $10.  It has taken me a long time to be brave enough to wear it, but I had to have it since it's my favorite color, and unique....plus it's MIU MIU! My top is on the wilder side of things shape-wise, but you can find a more subtle top if you want to try the style out. I wanted to wear it with jeans, but since it's the middle of Summer I opted for a denim skirt instead.

Top Miu Miu (thrifted, similar), Skirt: Mother Denim c/o Marshalls, Tank Top: Vince c/o Marshalls, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Chanel, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Initial Necklace c/o Gorjana, Number Necklace: Bijou Limon (etsy), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

Here is how the top was styled on the Spring 2003 runway, I toned it down a bit for my look.

  1. I think you're pulling it off beautifully. I like it open as you're wearing it in most of the photos - it sort of looks like a little kimono jacket.

  6. It actually looks really versatile, it would be great to pair with another print. I love it over the denim skirt though!

  8. I love that you were able to find it on the runway, so cool!
Glad you took a chance on the $10 shirt... sometimes we are blinded by designer names, but you made it work quite well.
