The time in between seasons is very confusing to dress for. You don't know whether to wear shorts or tights, sweaters or tanks. The key is to dress in layers so you can adjust your outfit for the weather. Layering works great for the top half of your body, but for the lower half it's a bit more difficult. So I just went with some light flowy pants that keep you warm but also give you a nice healthy breeze.
(did anyone notice that Harry Potter reference? Probably not because I'm a psycho and it's a totally random line) I did a bit of subtle print mixing with this look as well. One of my
print mixing tips is mix a small print with a large print, both using
the same color scheme. That way it doesn't overwhelm you. I also mixed girly with edgy/tribal when I chose my accessories.
One of my favorite places to look for affordable pieces is
ASOS. They have pieces for every budget, for those of us living off jelly beans to the lucky ones who can afford to dress head to toe in designers. They are also great because they have free shipping, I hate when I have found a great piece and then the shipping turns out to be more than the item! With ASOS you don't worry about that.

those pleated pants look so fun!
ReplyDeleteso far i've only ordered one thing from Asos, and it never arrived. maybe i'll try again someday.
Great advice. This time of year I'm usually wearing tights, with a summer ish dress and sweater so I can peel off layers if I need to. Our Tennessee weather has been so weird, first cold, then super hot, then chilly again, blargh.

I totally agree about the layering! Also, thanks for sharing this asos blurb because I have not shopped there yet, but it looks great, especially the prices!

ReplyDeleteI love so many items that ASOS has, but I've had major problems with their shipping before. Also, those F21 wedges are really adorable!
ReplyDeleteVery cute wedges. I may just have to order them.
ReplyDeleteAh didn't know about ASOS and free shipping!! I'll have to check that out. I like the flawy pants - can't believe they're "back" because I've had some of them in my lifetime!!! Layering is a must in this crazy weather we've been having..plus I'd have to bundle up anyway at work.
