This Week in Fashion

This week was so nice and calming, I love the week between Christmas and New Years because hardly any of our clients are working so we don't have too much to do. I also had Monday off so it was a nice short week, we have this coming Monday off too!  I also realized this week that I am a full on Chanel addict (well, I realized that a while ago)...all my makeup is Chanel and now I only want to use my Chanel nail polishes (my roomie got me PĂ©ridot for Christmas and I LOVE it, its so cool...) But I suppose its okay to splurge on it once in a while, right?

Do any of you have exciting New Years Eve plans? I'll be spending mine all alone at home unless something miraculous happens and I get invited somewhere where I'm not too scared to go, ha ha.

I wore two of my new sweaters this week (on Tuesday and Wednesday) that I got when I exchanged a Tahari blazer that wasn't the right color. I tried on the jacket at TJ Maxx 2 weeks before Christmas and it was teal...I LOVED it but it was $100 so I put it back.  A few days later my mom went back and was on clearance in my size so she bought it! When she wrapped it she saw that it was black...not teal so she thought she bought the wrong one. So on Monday we headed to TJ Maxx to exchange it for the teal one...I saw the jacket again and it looked teal, so we compared it to mine and MINE looked teal now. So to put a long story short (too late), the lighting in TJ Maxx messed us up and the blazer was really black. I have too many black blazers, so I exchanged it for 4 sweaters! They were all turtlenecks...I guess I'm obsessed with them now too...

  10. well one blazer for 4 sweaters is not a bad exchange!

I have no plans either, other than getting Midnight in Paris from Netflix. Very, very exciting.

  11. loving Wednesday's outfit best this week :) That dress looks really cute on you. This week has been crazy slow at my job too which has been awesome. Fingers crossed next week can be just as slow. Have a great new years (sometimes alone time is the best way to ring in the new year)

  12. So great you had a fairly relaxed work week. The lighting is so tricky in some shops, glad you were able to make the exchange. Nice round up of photos. I love the merlot sweater in the first pic!

  17. Store lighting can be sooo tricky! Sorry it turned out to be black but it sounds like you consoled yourself with more clothes, so all is well :) I adore that sweater dress. It's my fave look of the week!

  18. I'm glad that your Christmas went quite well this year! You were able to receive the jacket that you wanted :) lucky lucky you!

I think it's fine to splurge on yourself once in awhile, especially on something that you are in love with. That's what I did today at Hollister, with their 50% off discount, grabbed anything that I like and splurged! It does feel great since we need to watch where we are spending the money!

  19. I've been looking for a good, cozy turtleneck lately. I love the red color of the first one you're wearing! And I agree - the week between Christmas & New Years is SUPER calm. I love it to bits. I uusually spend that week seeing family and old friends.

I wont 'be able to stay up for New Years this year because I have to wake up early for a long drive on New Years Day. Boo

  24. I'll be staying home on NYE too--mainly because I just hate going out on New Year's Eve in general, because no matter where you go, it's always nuts!

Anyway glad you you were able to find such great sweaters at TJ Maxx! I never have any luck there, but my sister-in-law just got me two tops from there for Christmas.

Hope you have a happy and inspired New Year!
