Hey girlies! I have a favor to ask of you all today. As some of you may know my mom is a great sewer, she used to make tons of my clothes when I was little, she alters some of the clothes I get if they don't fit and she also makes TONS of quilts. Recently she has been getting into making bags, she started out making quilted bags as gifts and last month she made a bag out of felt.
What I want to know is, would you guys buy this if I set up a shop for her on etsy? If so, how much would you be willing to pay for it? She would even be able to do custom bags if there was enough demand. It is made of felt, with some beads and felt flowers hand sewn on. It is also fully lined with 3 inner pockets so you can fit tons of your bag essentials inside. It has wooden handles with a snap closure. Click the photos to see the images larger.
My mom was a bit nervous about me posting this, but I think that its great and people would be interested in buying them, as well as other things she has sewn. So yea...haha...what do you think?!
I think this bag is SO cute! I love the handles as well, great touch. In other words, I would definitely buy it! Awesome job mom :)
ReplyDeletehave a great day!

I also think I would buy it - it's not my personal style but I know a lot of people who would love to be gifted something like this!

This bag is really cute! Love the colors and flower design. Great job mom! Definetly an item that people would buy...momma can set up an account with etsy and sell her creations there. Best of luck!

I think the bag is adorable, though i probably wouldn't buy it to use as a purse.
ReplyDeleteIf it were larger, tote sized and perhaps made of canvas with felt accents I would be much more likely to buy it.
But that is just me, I'm really a leather bag kinda girl - i'm sure there would be tons of people who would adore it, because the design is super pretty and the craftsmanship looks impeccable.
Cute! She is clearly very talented. It's not my personal style, but I have no doubt that other people would be interested in buying them!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO cute. I actually really like the inside pattern of the bag. If your mom made that into those tiny cross body bags that are in this season (like this: http://canada.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=acc_handbags&product_id=1070220533&Page=1 )and added her own touches to it (maybe add some embroidery over the flowers with thread in those colour, kinda making it stand out if this makes sense? haha); I would definitely go crazy and buy one or two (for me and a friend!).
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I can't wait to see some more bagss! :) Pricing wise, i honestly thing it depends on how long it took her to make it and what she had to buy to make it. If it's a small purse like I suggested- probably 15-20 dollars? A bigger bag like this could go for 20-25 dollars?
It's not my style but it's beautiful! I know a lot of people who would buy it. Tell your mom great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Fannnntastic bag! Your mom is Super talented!!!! Happy Pre Mothers Day!

Wow....go mom! She is so talented...xo
ReplyDeletei think you should definitely set up an etsy shop... one thing i do before i start to sell a new design is research to see if similar things are selling... so i think you should go to etsy and take a look around... it would give you an idea of price range, etc :) good luck!
ReplyDeleteWell done Mum! It's so cute.xoxo
ReplyDeleteDrop by if you could?<3

Yes, I'll happily purchase one for my mum. £20.
ReplyDeleteI think it's cute! It's not my style but you can tell she put a lot of work into it and that alone people would appreciate and buy.
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty cute for a fun, casual tote. And Etsy is a great way to find a niche, I say you go for it. I think you could price them around $30-35.
ReplyDeleteLet us know how it goes!

The craftsmanship looks impeccable! In Vancouver, I've seen handmade bags like this selling for around $60-$65. Given the work that must go into them, I'm not sure I'd sell them for less!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Love it. Your mom did a GREAT job.

This is gorgeous - your Mom is very talented and I am sure that it would sell. Good luck to Mom :-)
ReplyDeleteGoodness, what a talented mother you have! I just read your mother's day post above, but had to comment on this one as your mom is obviously brimming with both creative ideas and impeccable skills. Lucky you!
