I need to do some serious thinking about next year. I have 2 big trips coming up: Florida in March and London in July (London isn't totally set in stone yet), so I need to save up my money so I have spending money while I'm there. I'm also debating whether or not to get an iPad so I don't have to bring my laptop with me...but that's $700 (for the smallest size 3G one with a case)...GRRR! The problem with that would mean I wouldn't really be able to do any blog/Potter news posts with images, but I could do basic posts...I need to weigh the options....decisions decisions...stupid money.

Stop by and say Hello♥
Style Sample Magazine NEWS EDITOR♥
You are amazing lady!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Meg, I love lots of your posts, but your budget recaps might be my favourites. Seriously, they crack me up in their attention to detail, and I am SUCH a budgeter too (well, when I'm not, I'm not, but when I need to, I calculate every damn tomato)! I've recently put myself on a "Refugee Budget" of £35 a week which is ridiculous but making me more conscious than ever of how easy it is to spend money on nothing!
ReplyDeleteOh you are so lucky! I've never been to London. Make sure you save save save! Quick Tip: If you see something you like at the store, think, "do I need it or do I want it?" if it's something you want, but don't need then maybe it's best that you pass on it because it will benefit you in the long run, and more money for you! But I'm sure you'll be fine seeing that you are still under. Good for you! :)
ReplyDeletexoxo,
MelRod
wow that sounds one super hectic month!
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't read all too differently from my spending this month too. And money spent on attending Harry Potter movies as soon as they are released is money well spent in my books! :)
ReplyDeletei really want to get the avatar dvd too!
ReplyDeleteso i live in florida and i can tell you that you will want to save up money to at least take advantage of the water activities here. if you are going to south florida then you might want to go to miami for shopping too.
and london is great! definitely save money for shopping--their money is worth more than ours so things will be a bit more expensive. if you shop at Primark you will find less expensive clothing though.

Great idea for a post, it is so difficult keeping tabs on our money sometimes. I have been trying to save for the past 3 months for a trip to india next year so the disposable income (mainly clothes and shoes has had to go!) hence I've become an inhabitor of my local charity shops! Your trips sound amazing, it will definitely be worth it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment on my blog, would love you to follow. Fab blog, now following.

ReplyDeletehaha..
ReplyDeleteYou did great!
ReplyDeleteYayy! I'd be scared to write down what I spent this month : 0
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at how organized you are! Perhaps if I saw myself down and looked at where I spend my money unnecessarily (Starbucks for sure!) I would have more around!
ReplyDeleteIs a good idea to save some moneys, even if it is difficult, but will help you to travel more.
ReplyDeleteGoodness you are good! <33
ReplyDeleteGreat job staying on budget this month!
ReplyDeleteAnd London-- you lucky girl!
looks like you did great! it'll be worth it to save up for your trips :)
ReplyDeletewow you're amazing. i can't even track down my own list of purchases.
ReplyDelete"but I sorta want to save up for a house instead of an apartment, but that's insane"
ReplyDeleteMe too! I know it's not realistic, but if I REALLY curb my spending, it might be possible...?
Looks like you did well this month! It feels weird not to spend money sometimes, but it's so rewarding to know that you have $$$ stored up for a rainy day (or a house) if you ever need it!
Wow, you did a great job budgeting this month. Can you give me lessons? I need them!
ReplyDeleteI love these budgeting posts... very inspiring, especially during the month of end-of-season sales!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch control!
ReplyDeleteI just laughed so hard as the first one is the Toy Story DVD because even though I read the disclaimer I still thought it would be sort of clothes related...also the hot dog :)
ReplyDeleteGood job!!! You are my money inspiration!
Doing good with the moolah, missy! Keep that willpower!!!
ReplyDeleteCall Me Ishmael
You really stuck to your goals this month!! I can't say that I did... but December is about giving to others!!! So that doesn't "count" etc.
