GoodWill Trip

Friday after work I stopped off at Good Will since I was going to stop at Target to get a birthday gift for my sister (I got her a John Derian for Target 3 Piece Journal Set :) )  I ended up spending $13.99 at Good Will, I almost got some more stuff but I resisted.
I got a Lauren by Ralph Lauren cardigan/sweater and a nameless purse.  The sweater is a little big big and its a Small...grr! But I figure it will be nice and comfy for the winter and if I wear it unbuttoned it looks okay.  Plus chunky sweaters are in, so wahoo! AND it was only $8.99!!  Does it look too grandma-ey though? Be honest XD
I also got a really cute bag that reminds me a little of Chanel for $5.  I figure this can be my stand-in Chanel bag until I get one...HA!  I do have a glimmer of hope on that front, though.  As some of you might remember, my bosses wife works at Chanel and they have employee sales and they get 90% off (so that's like $460 for a bag or something)! So I asked if he could ask her to keep a lookout for a 2.55 or Classic Flap for me, hopefully he asked XD.  They don't sell black to the employees at the sales but I would be happy with pretty much any color :D [To clarify: the employees CAN get black, but they have to pay full price. They just don't have black at the employee sales]
My spending challenge is at $95.91, so I have $54.09 with 5 days to go, looks like I'll stay nicely under my budget!

  15. I heart grandma sweaters, so I don't care if they are unfashionable or not, they are downright comfortable and extra-nubby. I think yours is cute :)

  18. I have a bag like that by Bally that I found for $5 in a flea market sale in Tokyo! I wonder why they don't let the Chanel employees buy black?

  19. I think the cardigan has a lot of nice layering and belting potential. I can't wait to see how you style it!

I'll keep my fingers crossed you are able to get your purse!

And they won't let the employees have black. Wow. That's kind of shameful.

We just had a grand opening of a new Goodwil here in Hammond and girl I had to go into work a little late(it's good to work for yourself) just to check it out! silly huh? well I left there with some really cute items, can't wait to show them off. I love the RL Sweater-- you can always belt it if you wanted to wear it closed :)

  29. That's kind of ridiculous that they don't sell black. I hate it when big expensive brands get so cheap with people. Sounds like a sweet discount otherwise though!

I love the grandma sweater, but I'm super into a) grannie chic (emphasize on chic) and b) warmth!

  30. nice bag! i just made a clutch by myself, check it out on my blog and thell me what do you think!

  31. I think that the sweater will look great worn open over tighter layers such as slim fitting pants and top underneath. I don't love it with the lighter wash jeans. I would wear it with slim fitting camel or dark brown pants. I don't think that it's granny by itself but it definitely has a danger zone! I love sweaters, chunky or light, and I love that one!
