I LOVE velvet, so I'm very excited that it is one of the major trends for Fall (I would have worn it anyway ;) ). Here's a dress for less featuring the awesome fabric. I decided to turn a skirt and bodysuit into a dress-like thing and then had to add a sweater for some coverage. This look is a bit severe for every day, but the good thing about all these pieces is that you can mix and match with a ton of other items. (It is also a bit more expensive than my usual Dress for Lesses, its hard to not use Forever 21...but I'm still angry with them) I also still don't know if I like this...had a bit of a mental block...
Bodysuit - ASOS $20.22
Skirt - ASOS $30.33
Sweater - Alloy $34.90
Tights - ASOS $8.43
Flats - Alloy $24.90
TOTAL: $118.78
Wedge - Alloy $46.90

I've never been a huge fan of velvet (I have memories of wearing a velvet dress for a choir concert in middle school), but you found some cute things here! And those wedges are too perfect!
ReplyDeletei can't wait to buy me some velvet threads and break them in all winter! it's such a classic, and i'm surprised it hasn't been more popular before now.
ReplyDeleteWell unfortunately due to my stupid internet speed I can't actually SEE the pictures but I imagine they're great... strangely enough I was wondering if I could do something with my mum's wedding dress as it was white velvet... maybe I could dye it, it's not like she will wear it again!
ReplyDeleteI've never been a velvet fan either but I'm starting to think about it as an option for next winter - we're heading into summer over here so I have a while to consider it!
These are so great!! I can so see using all of these in an outfit....or piece by piece....LOVE them!

I'm a velvet fan too - I'm glad it's back because over the last few years its been hard to find nicely tailored velvet pieces that are youthful without being goth. Nice picks!
