This outfit is one of my favorite combinations. It's perfect for Summer because of how airy the skirt is. The sweater is also surprisingly lightweight. And the best part? It's all made by loved ones. My late Grandmother made the top for my Mom YEARS ago and she passed it on to me. My Grandma made one for each of her daughter-in-laws and daughter. My mom actually asked for a second one, and this is that one. Then my mom made me this skirt in 2012 with extra fabric from when we made a skirt inspired by Michael Kors. I don't even wear the other skirt anymore. Whoops.

It's so nice when pieces have a history like that behind them - almost makes them heirlooms in a way.

Wow I love that these were both handmade! I love the top from your Grandmother, that must have been tricky to knit! And perfect for this mild summer weather this week.

They are both such beautiful pieces, how nice that they were handmade just for you! My mum used to make a lot of our clothes as kids, but I didn't think we kept any of them. Shame as my boys would have loved the shorts, I remember I had a disney cartoon character pair! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you've been having a nice week! It's been a very cold one here!

I like that this skirt has the scalloped edges, and the hemline is just more timeless, I think.
